If the defence is fit they can; Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Meunier, Kompany and even Vermaelen are all good. The moment you have to start using Jordan Lukaku and Laurent Ciman (one of them is enough; they instil fear into their teammates by their sheer presence) things can turn very sour. They are useless. They make the Everton defence look world class.

My Scottish grandma is the only Scot I've ever met who supported England, though both her kids married English people, so maybe that's why.

Yeah, you wouldn't want a clown coming in to a PL club and getting them their best ever performances for a generation and their best ever points totals, or getting them to SFs of cups.

I'm sure all the PL clubs will be running a mile from that option, because it comes with the possibility of finishing safely in midtable too..
