Playing a young but experienced squad that makes mistakes is fine with me. They will adopt to the style eventually but we have to be careful They are ready and so they can adopt to the style with a winning tradition. We could try:

Howard-or another goalkeeper
Coleman Stones Jags Baines
McCarthy Besic
Mirallas Barkley McGeady
Lukaku

Garbutt and Browning need to be at least on the bench- they need to learn the style, they're the near future after all.
 

How dare martinez compare his shambolic goal leaking outfit to what was accomplished at goodison in the 60s and 80s. He knows nothing of winning titles and never will.

His track record speaks of keeping Wigan in the relegation zone continuously in large part due to a misguided philosophy that he is now asserting he will never alter.
What a slap in the face to the players who are basically being told direct by the manager in the press that they aren't up to it. No wonder their confidence is shot. When royle took over from martinez mk1 (walker) back in 94 he said he was shocked at how good the playing staff were as results indicated otherwise. They had just had the life and confidence sucked out of them by the silver fox. We have the same situation here. Substitute the silver fox for the Catalan clown. The best thing he can do is go quietly now before he embarrasses himself and the club any further. I hope to god Kenwright has a plan of action based on the results of the next three or four games to oust this charlatan, otherwise he is as guilty of negligence in the line of duty as Martinez is. I would be tempted to describe that article as active misconduct as he openly states results and conceding goals don't matter.

We have been in this position under moyes at this time of the season, and i couldnt see us getting any better and was worried. We had no style except lump it up and hope for a piece of luck. Guess what, we did get better and things started to work for us. I am sure this will happen this season. Hopefully starting tomorrow.

This was so, but then we had the players to do what Moyes wanted and eventually we got it sort of right
Now we DON'T have the players to do what Martinez wants. They not only can't do it but don't seem even keen to try, so eventually we WON'T get it right.

Let me get this right then... if we wait long enough, stick at it, Jagielka and Distin will turn into Beckenbaur and Bobby Moore, Barry will get younger and better by the day, Lukaku will turn into a mixture of (the good one not the gash one)Fashanu / Droghba. McGready will get a brain, Barkley will turn into Zinedane all through sticking at Martinez's Philosophy
Or
We will get a pot ( big ) of dosh and replace 4 or 5 key players all at once
Or
We will buy 1 or maybe 2 a season for 3,4,5, seasons, some of which may not work out ( and not every one does even for the very best )

HMmm* strokes chin...let me get back to you on that.

We had Spitfires ( and Hurricanes which actually shot down more )
We had Radar
We were at home

They had lumbering Bombers that had to fly in a predictable line while we could jink in and out
If Hitler stuck at it for 2 more weeks instead of inexplicably turning to Night Bombing we would've run out of planes and Pilots.
 
Passing and dribbling, the cornerstone of martinez "feelorseerfee".

These two attributes require confidence to be successful, a player without confidence will fail in 9 out of 10 dribbling attempts, while a team lacking confident can't string 20 passes together, yet they were told to play in such a way till we get results we wanted. Doesn't makes sense to me at all.

Just about to post this.

He says our errors at the back are easily rectified, well....why wasn't they rectified after Chelsea? Or before that? I just don't understand. It sounds to me like he's come out and faced the criticism in a way that says "I don't want to look stupid so
I'm gonna convince everyone that the style Im playing is suitable and ongoing." He knows himself he's been sussed out but if he agreed with the critics he would look a fool and put his job on the line.

A three year old would know he's talking with his back against the wall.

He's absolutely right too: you need to take every scrap of evidence on board to decide whether the way he sees the game being played is the right one, not just the way we've been playing in a slump.

And I am not trying to make any "argument".

I am just a very concerned Evertonian right now.....and for the life of me I don't see how any of us can be owt else.

These are scary times, my friend.

And that is why I made the Hitler analogy......Adolf is synonymous with a "bunker mentality" and if the rantings in that there "interview" ain't displaying a bunker mentality in which Bobby and Bobby alone knows what to do then I am a Dutchman :p
