Think he would be a good signing he is unpredictable scores goals and for 12.5 is a bargain the way money is going, we havent got a left sided player so would help and we will make bigger signings

Haha well it was short and bittersweet. For a night we thought we were actually signing someone. Back into the void it is then.

Even so this was more excitement than we've had in 5 weeks!

I really hope we sign this guy and don't mess up what is clearly an easy transfer in true Everton style.

He isn't a striker though?

He never even played striker for Werder Bremen, it was always on the wing.

And for what it's worth after a sporadic first season at Stoke he has been pretty much excellent for the last two seasons.
If he wasn't then fair enough.

I read something last season which called him a failed striker that had rejuvenated himself playing on the left for stoke.

Sky have him down as a striker and elsewhere tend to label him as a forward. Only wiki says left wing but probably because that is where he plays now.

Either way he was a striker at some point judging his scoring record and had struggled since then. If he is a decent left winger now then perhaps worth bringing in as an alternative to kev?

Oh dear, from Mata and Witsel to Siggurdson and Arnautovic.

Look forward to us all trying to convince ourselves and each other he'll be the best signing of the summer.

Considering left-side is a problem area what's the big deal about this?
Because in theory he can either be a player who has found his true position which is a good thing, or a player who just had a good season playing out of position.

One makes him a good signing, the other means he ends up being a flop here.

If he's a striker but now realises he's better on the wing then awesome.

If he's a striker and plays there he's a Hell of a lot better than our back-ups currently and £12.5m is nothing these days.

If we can afford a 12 million upgrade on McGeady, then yes. But probably best we fill the gaping holes in the jigsaw first, before we colour the pieces in.

Aye i agree with that way of thinking. 12.5 million as well is worth signing him on as well, if he is a good player for us or not.
