He doesn't really fit the Brands profile surely? 28 years old and would expect to cost around £25-30m..

I wouldn't be upset if we signed him like, just surprised.
 

Some say he is bit of wrongun, however, that slight off balance in personality can be underestimated in any team.

Completely unconnected, I was a big fan of Van Den Hauwe the original 'Psycho', he did give us an edge!

Nope, not the Brands profile at all. Put a tick next to Marco's name if this one goes through. Just like Richarlison. I'm not sure what Brands is doing...

You must be watching a different player to me. He is a very good CB who wont be bullied off the ball. He is a defender good and proper, not one of those half way house charlatans who play a little but cant defend.

Absolutley sick to the back teeth with 'footballing centre backs". People need to realise there are about a handful of players in the game at anyone time capable of playing out from the back and being a top defender. Varane's do not come in large volume, I'm afraid.

What have you done with the real Dave, in the last few posts you’ve criticised Martinez over McCarthy and now you’re saying you’re sick of footballing centrebacks after you spent years championing Funes Mori for being exactly that.

Unless we improve our midfield we need footballing centrebacks as we can’t move the ball forward in anyway except long currently.

I like defenders to defend first and foremost. Always have. As said, if we can have a Varane I'd take him and play out from the back. But we cant. So I suppose I've learned in the past few seasons that you cant make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
