Transfer Rumour Marcos Rojo

In terms of actually defending, I'd say Rojo is better than Smalling.

However, Smalling's pace gets him out of a lot of trouble he gets himself into - it always has. That's both a blessing and a curse. It's like VVD, except VVD is far better all round.

In terms of style of player to fit a high line, though, both Rojo and Smalling - imo - fit the bill more than Mina...

We used to say the same about Jags but not for the last couple of seasons.

I haven't seen if the 30 million figures are hardening from respected journalists (particularly those at our end).

I will reiterate I will be amazed, given how Brands has conducted negotiations thus far if we paid that for him. It smacks me of United using Everton interest to try to get Wolves to put a big bid in. If there is concrete evidence of that fee emerging fair enough, but I haven't seen it.

I imagine this deal would get done around what United paid for him. It's far from perfect, though the fee is less of a worry than his wages.

speaking to a utd so called mate .. he says that hes a good solid defender however you will prob only get 20 games a season as he gets too many yellows and reds

The market has been distorted by Liverpool buying Van Dijk. They put 25 million on the world record fee. Now Maguire is valued at 60 million. This is a Leicester player who has never played in the CL. Mawson moved for 25 Mill. Against those fees why wouldn’t United ask for 30 for an Argentine international with CL experience?

Just dont understand why we ever sold Mori, could have kept the 10-12m difference and forced Keane and Williams out.

Really is concerning.
How he was moved on and Silva has taken the time to look at Keane is odd to say the least.

He was moved on because he's not very good.

Keane, for all his faults, showed much more at Burnley - defensively - than Mori ever did here.

Can we stop the revisionism. Mori was an accident waiting to happen most times. He was dreadful every game he played for us last season (not a lot due to injury I know) and in the season before that (remember that 5-0 drubbing at Chelsea when he was at fault for like three goals?).

I liked him, wanted him to do well, but he just wasn't great. Keane needs binning as well, but I can understand the club wanting to try and get a tune out of a defender we spent £25m on 12 months ago.
