No but it’s not about them it’s about us. I’ll,stick my neck out and say we will beat them next week. But they are a good side and our problem lies in thinking we will beat a team before a ball is kicked rather than applying ourselves.

And this I agree with.

People think we have a god given right to beat most teams we play.

Im not quite sure what its based on personally.

Most of the time you get what you deserve in this league.

What you think santo has no say on who plays in his team.
His side look well drilled and decent. Its not a sin to admit that you know.

No I'm saying that while they are well drilled, and put in two impressive performances only days apart in the week, that players like Jimenez, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Patricio etc wouldn't be there but for Mendes convincing them that it was the right move, if they hadn't been challenging for promotion to, and qualifying for Europe from, the Premier League

Same way Riaola worked both with and against the club regarding Kean and Lukaku

The biggest problem I seen last night was that we looked ponderous in possession for long periods, more so after they scored. If we would have scored we would have gone on and won the game.i think Delph will provide more mobility and will be a better foil for Gomes than schniederlein but based on the fouls they were given Richarlisons was a penalty all day long. Maybe I’m trying to sugar coat a bad performance but I’ve seen some shockers in my time as a blue and that wasn’t in my worst 10.

Ok, Hes had an extra year on Silva, he also had a blank canvas in order to paint his team on.

They will still finish below us every season in the future.

Wolves and Nuno Santo are not a club we should aspire to be.

There was no mention of aspiring to be anyone. No idea where you have plucked that from. Are we only allowed to mention barcelona and bayern munich in threads then in case we are accused of aspiring to be them.
It is allowed to compliment on anyone who's clearly doing a good job.

The thing I love about Silva is he seems like a genuinely good guy that doesn’t let his anger out on others.

The thing I hate about Silva is he seems like a genuinely good guy that doesn’t let his anger out on others.

I think we have a great locker room because of him, but I don’t think he has enough fire to get his guys motivated. I don’t want to bank on us being ahead for the next 35 games to win anything.

In his defense, it may be as simple as getting Kean and Iwobi integrated. We can only hope.

For their first season up last year they looked like an established prem team and more than comfortable against the sides in the top 6. Thats more than we have looked in the last 15 years.
He's doing a great job there. If we were playing like that Everton fans would like it and him. Need to stop sticking our nose in the air hyacinth bucket.

Because the bulk of the squad were together when they won promotion, so had that bond to carry over. No one is being snobbish towards them, Nuno is a good manager, probably one of the best they've had for a long time whereas we've chopped and changed managers and personnel too many times to forge as good a bond

Last nights result was very much on missed sitters. We played well for the first 20 minutes. If we had scored one or two in that spell then it’s a completely different game. Caution and nerves and errors then came into play. DCL appalling again. Even though we were poor from after 20 minutes, you cannot blame Silva for Iwobi hitting the post and Walcott missing a sitter in the last minute.
I think Walcott chance was harder than it looked, it came to him fast and at a bit of an awkward height, DCL chance wa s cub easier, but he didn’t try to place it, just played safe hitting it down the middle.

All managers have the bulk of a squad thats been together for a while when they take over. There is usualy a fair percentage of players that have been there two or three years. And to right there shouldnt be any snobbery. Santo has managed bigger clubs than silva.
