We have some very good players and some bad players. I am talking about the same players. Our problem is if they are not playing good then there is no in between.....they are rubbish. Richarlison, Siggy, Bernard, Gomes.......no averageness about them.....Good or bad. Coleman, Digne are about our only players when there bad is average. It is total inconsistency and because they are important players it drags the team up or down.

We did. He was called Ronald Koeman. Stern dictator cheque book manager who bought "ready" players.

It's taken us almost 3 seasons to fix that mess and most of his signings still linger

Koeman had no interest if im honest mate and for me him and Walsh just had no connection and it showed in the signings.

For what its worth I think Koeman would have done alot better with Brands signings than Silva has done considering how he got a tune with Southampton.

I just think the fanbase need a lift - the RS were sick of life under Woy, Dogleash and in the end Rodgers but their owners were smart enough to break the cycle of lame duck mid table managers and went for that highly rated bloke at Dortmund and they haven't looked back.

Newcastle did it with Benitez who despite being nowehre near the manager he was for the RS atleast gave their fanbase hope in comparison to lame ducks like Pardew and Bruce.

Leeds another one - down there for over a decade but got in a top manager (for that level) who'll finally get them back up.

Until we finally break the mould and go out and try get a top manager (or that tier below ie. Someone like Mancini) then I fear its just more of the same since Martinez's 1st season.

DCL was crap in pre-season and in the first two games and should not have started last night. The lad simply does
not behave in the penalty area although he is quite good outside of it.

But its the midfield that drives me nuts. For some reason Morgan and Gomes do not have the necessary paperwork to visit
the opponent's penalty area and Gilfi no longer wishes to shoot.

Silva has got to get Iwobi and Kean playing all the time. Our away form has been crap for literally years and playing three slow-coaches
in the middle is not good enough and Silva should have realized that.

I never saw the interview, but my lad was saying that Gary Neville had it spot on when he said something along the lines of that we always come across as a club who are just happy to be safe.

Neville is a self serving snake and spectacularly failed as a manager. He openly has stated that he hates people from Liverpool, so I’d hardly expect plaudits from him tbh

His tactic awareness is abysmal. His style is horrible.

The games we perform well were those that we sit back and counter.

Never had a great game of possession football since he manage us.

This will go on till the end of the season and beyond.

He is simply not the type of managers we need.

There are 13 teams weaker than us in the league and if we keep playing this style, we will have problems picking 39pts. Good luck to those who think he will bring us to the next level.

He looked like a cat in the headlights last night. The neutrals I was watching it with noticed it first. He was nervous before it started. It could be he’s annoyed with what he’s got, but, I just hope that he hasn’t given up because he didn’t get what he wanted in the close season. We are dreadful to watch and seem to be drained of urgency
