Very poor, what did Moshiri see in him? Please enlighhten me some one.
What obtuse comments...totally bizarre imo

Hes one of the top emerging managers.

I think Walcott came on as Richarlison was shattered and off his game + iwobi probably not ready.

We needed another wide player to counter.

Why not Iwobi?

10 clean sheets out the last 13, no goals conceded at home since February, 5 wins in a row at Goodison. Not bad for the fraud who can’t organise a defence.
I've got to give credit to silva here..

He somehow managed to turn one of the worst defence in the league into a clean sheet machine..

God knows how or what has done it but we are defo hard to score against now

Impressed

Probably the same people who love the erratic loan centreback who caused a lot of those problems.

Tbf, Zouma was also involved in our good run.

As a team, we needed a break. That 17-day gap came at an ideal time. He needed time on the training pitch with the team to nail down stuff like set-pieces, which was honestly really our only major problem for much of last year - crosses into the box.

We weren't great at times today but Watford have massive players. The only chance they got from a set-piece came when Dawson got free.

Zouma's pace did help us push higher up last year, and that - combined with the loss of Gana - is why at the moment we are seeing us generally sit a bit deeper.

But it'll come. It's gonna take a bit of time to click and really get going.

Regardless of the players being used, Silva has shown he can drill a solid defence in a team now which was one of the main criticisms against him from his detractors. I think he’s doing a lot of things right and if we keep up this clean sheet habit we’ll do well this season.

Yep.

The important thing is to grind out results in the meantime.

it's still pre-season for a lot of players - they're still clicking into gear, still gelling. As a manager Silva is having to adpat to new players too and there are bound to be some teething issues. If we can maintain a solid foundation it at least sets us in good stead.

"Martinez MKII" :hayee: so far so good for Silva, long may it continue and hopefully we'll see the play improve when the new players adjust and everyone is fit
