Well I am Portuguese and followed his career closely before he went abroad. He's not a flash in the pan, there's life beyond the Premier League. The quality was obvious, same as Jardim who I would have liked us to go for before he went to Monaco. Then again I thought Koeman would be good for us, so what do I know.

The difference between Martinez and Silva's relegations is that Martinez decayed Wigan slowly from the inside over the course of 4 years whereas Silva was appointed with Hull already on life support and expected to perform a miracle.

Plus Hull were three points clear of the drop with three games to go before they were stuffed at home by an already relegated David Moyes Sunderland, and other tomfoolery
