We could be right up there with the top 4 right now in terms of points. It all boils down to us taking our chances and cutting out the mistakes. I’m most curious to see how we fare against the top clubs.

A big test for him is when Mina and Gomes are fit. If he waits and persists with Keane and Davies til we inevitably drop points then it'll show he's a weak manager - he persisted with DCL and Tosun up front for weeks whilst Bernard was sat on the bench and Richarlison out wide.

As soon as both are fit they need putting into the starting 11. Mina alone would win us points from goals from set pieces.

Bernard wasn't fit. Hence why he didn't play.

If Mina and Gomes are as good as the other new signings then we will be very happy. Richarlison is the only signing that was up and running and he even had missed matches through suspension. Digne worked his way in eventually and Zouma has strengthened the back line now Bernard has just started his first game. The signs are good and the signings are thus far excellent with Bernard still yet to get up to speed and 2 more to enter the fray.

Our biggest bonus is style of play coming together and looking good on the eye.

Don’t underestimate what that win could do psychologically. We’ve gone to a ground where few people actually expected us to even get anything, and taken the game to them and deservedly won. Alright, it’s not a top 6 team or anything like that, but outside of those teams it’s the toughest away on paper. I can’t remember the last time we actually asserted ourselves on a game away from home like that against a decent side, sure as hell never happened under the previous two managers.

Didn't expect him to roll the dice and go with Richarlison up top but it paid dividends like many thought it would. He's our best option at 9 especially in those tough away matches. When we finally get past the injuries (and suspensions) that have hindered us early on I do think we have an xi more suited to going to those tough away grounds and getting points than I have seen us have in a very long time.

I disagree, he done the right thing with Bernard waiting until he is fit enough to properly start a game.

Davies and Gueye are doing fine until Gomez is fully, same with Mina and Keane.

All better for the season as a whole with players not getting injured when they’re rushed back.

Yeah, the future is more important than rushing a player back for a single game. Bernard also had a little setback too where he was going to start v Huddersfield it seems.

We can but hope but so far all the signs are good , the signings have improved us and we looked to be progressing. Things don’t happen overnight but after the disappointment of Tuesday it was a nice and much needed lift .

Top managers play top players like Bernard and utilise systems to suit players they have.

Lets see if Silva has the bottle to adapt formation to utilise Richarlison, Walcott and bernard in a attacking front 3 instead of persisting with the same gash attack line up.
Looks like he has
Shame about that penalty miss yesterday
I’d say you were jumping for joy

Early on the front four were defending slightly deeper and Maguire had an age on the ball with literally no forward options. It didn’t feel like we had a lone striker, it felt like we had four of them waiting to pounce.

If this is Silva me likey.
