Well you have already sacked him anyway, you cant sack him twice no matter how much you dislike him

There`s different categories of make believe sacking though Neil :

1. Six games in > get out of the club you fraud, I was right all along, you`re crap and take your massive compo payment with you.

2. The shining of the Allardyce emergency sign into the night sky > usually around Christmas and accompanied by another massive compo payment, plus a bung for
Allardyce, then more compo when he`s binned at the end of the season.

3. The sensible parting of the ways > 18 mths / 24 mths down the line > things haven`t worked out and an amicable parting agreement is agreed.

We can't carry on with the minuscule expectations and then ask why we're not taken seriously by the media.

Fat Sam got 8th, I expect the manager we sacked him for to better that position.

He wont get sacked but he has no excuse, anything left then 7th is real poor from him

Why are people that bothered about who the captain is ? After the coin toss its job done, don't think I could name many of the captains in the PL as it means nothing, a leader is a leader.

I think it shows a sign of not having a clear plan, by now he should know who is captain is and number two

I'd sack him today, he isn't good enough. I'm not naive enough to think that is going to happen, though.

As I've said above, we sacked Fat Sam after an 8th place finish; the man coming in to replace him needs to be bettering that position.

To be fair we sacked Allardyce for more than just the league position. Moshiri always wanted SIlva, the football we played despite finishing 8th was never ever going to get us higher, as in a long term plan to be attractive to the better players in the world.

There was a lot more behind than simply saying the league position was the reason.

I don't think Silva's tactics that have seen us record one shot on target vs. Huddersfield, followed up by a hammering by West Ham at home and then failing to score against Arsenal have been encouraging that he can do anything more than Sam.

He knows who his 1,2,3 and apparently 4 are mate. Its just 1st, 2nd and 3rd are injured. Its not not having a clear plan its just injuries. Not that it matters much, you don't have to wear an armband to be a leader.

Unreal. Now Walcott can't play in a 4-2-3-1, yet you want Kuyt out there, who is much slower and worse in defense and is NOTHING like James Milner.

Brands and Silva bought Bernard because he could play the position.

I don't think you understand Silva's tactics or the teams personnel very well. I think THAT is the problem.

It take up bit of lateral understanding, not just watching the ball and what the poster boys did.
Kuyt played RB making it to the semi final of a WC.
Kuyt and Milner were two of the best players of their generation, they just let the poster boys take the glory and got on with it. If you were around you probably wouldnt have noticed them except for when they were scoring the odd goal on MOTD.
Walcott does not have the qualities, does not have the diesel, to be be a wing in tjat formation. We don't have the players around him to make up for it ( ie dominate possession).
Not saying Bernard can't play wing (or Walcott). He would be good in a 4-3-3, but atm don't have the players for that system either.

Well, I'd say the top six should and will all definitely finish above us.

Of course, we should be aiming to break into it - every team should. But realistically, the main aim of this season is for Silva to settle and the team to settle under Silva, into a style that will hopefully provide the foundations to develop over the next 2-3 seasons.

You know, a long-term plan, not calling for the new manager to be sacked after eight games.

He does know who they are.

Jagielka is 1
Baines is 2
Coleman is 3
Davies is 4

The only reason Gylfi has been captain is because none of the other three played against West Ham. He's not chopping and changing for the hell of it. If someone is out of the side, they can't be captain can they. Would you want Baines in over Digne just so he has the armband?

Yeah. Hiring and firing managers has done Chelsea and Man City a lot of damage over the years. Longevity is what we need, look how many trophies that yielded under Moyes.

The thing is the players are adapting to Silva's tactics. It happened the same when Martinez took over and then with Koeman. There are going to be games where it just doesn't click and games where it does. I don't think anybody could have complained if we had won at Arsenal, things conspired against us but it shows improvement, if nothing else. You are looking at the black and white, we didn't score at Arsenal so it must have been bad. We played well, you could argue a lot better than Allardyce would have got us playing. Better finishing from individuals would have got us the win, in my opinion.

You can only go so far with the tactics that Allardyce employs, if we have any ambition as a fan base then we have to stick with a clear vision of how to get the best out of players and get the best players into the club.

It is, however, way too early to say whether Silva will be more successful than any of his predecessors.

My belief is that he will get it right along with Brands, we are yet to see how the transfer policy will work out but with Richarlison and DIgne it looks promising.
