I agree with this. We can’t keep chopping managers if we hope for stability. It’s just crazy how one result has changed everyone’s mind though. I need to see a bit more till the end of the season. Chelsea wasn’t the most convincing win at home either as we were very lucky not to be down in the 1st half. I’ll take it as a possible turning point. Hopefully
It's not
really just one result though is it? Like, if you'd asked this question in the days before the first derby (let us not forget that this was only 4 months ago itself) it would have been virtually 100% in favour of keeping him. It would have stayed massively in his favour after the next 3-4 games before lurching after the Spurs game, and it would possibly have peaked after Millwall. That's because people would have been wavering, and then suddenly a bad result leads them to change their mind and decide he should go.
That's pretty much indisputable I think, that there was a slow, gradual increase in dissent until eventually people snapped. Why should the same not happen in reverse then? People wanted him out because things were bad, then we beat Cardiff which softened some stances, got a creditable draw in the derby which softened it further, and after a further setback won a game against a decent side for the first time in a long while. Add to that the fact that we kept 3 clean sheets, tightened up from set pieces etc, and it would actually be truly bizarre if people
hadn't decided that he should probably get the rest of the season at least.
