Can't remember when this goal was, but we're so lucky now. Look at the team:
Alcaraz in defence, and then the front 3 around Lukaku who were bombing forward were Kone, Osman and Lennon!!! And no. 4 Gibson trotting along.

Did you see the replies on Twitter, my god the majority hailing McCarthy as a superstar and they can’t wait to see him back in the team.
The lad is a decent mid table footballer, but he’s making no difference to our midfield. We have so many similar players in midfield. And the ones we have would struggle to make the bench of the top 6.

If we are going to really kick on, we need two new centre midfielders over the next 2 windows.

Yep, he is another one for the exit door. The club has been carrying him way too long. Since signed by RM how many games has he played?

Agreed but mccarthy is still miles better than snides.

True, but I think all the teams in the league have lost any semblance of their identities. How come the Spanish teams are full of Spanish players, yet often we have teams without a single Englishman, never mind a local lad?

Blame Sky and the money they pump into the game
The Spainish have reserve team football so they can blood their first team players in a competitive league while making sure they play the right way
PL teams use U 23s and loans to clubs that have no interest in the young players developement
It will be interesting to see how many players from Rnglands young World Cup winning teams make it in the PL
NOT MANY I’d bet
