Well, tbh, it's all the same. There is no guarantee that anything will eventually happen as each match is an independent event, same as a spin in roulette.Only for the next one, not 'eventually'.
In fact, it's actually deeper than that. Because the gamblers fallacy is based on the mentality of the gambler alone, and the table has no influence in the outcome. But in football, each teams collective mentality comes into play. So not only does a series of losses NOT guarantee an eventual victory, a series of losses can actually lead to additional future losses.
And its not a recent thing either. Look through our entire history. We've won at Anfield 8 times since the war, that's including our 2 most successful periods/teams we've had in our history.
Until there is a huge mentality shift by 1 or both teams, you can basically chalk off those potential 6 points every year.
