If he's going he should move on immediately so we can get someone else in to help in January. Why have him do any deals in January if he's going to be leaving?

I know this isn't him per se but good lord do we need to start giving players reasonable wages. We are so poor in terms of getting what we are paying for in both wages and fees. Most of it from previous but some players just seem to be on massive massive wages and their productivity is just terrible. We desperately need the players Carlo correctly called as well, if they don't WANT to play for Everton, move the hell on. Championship players and those who see us as a big step up are the ones we really should be focusing on.

At what point in the transfer market do Everton conduct their business?

Everton have only made one signing in the winter window since Brands arrived - the acquisition of Branthwaite from Carlisle United in January of this year.

So in analysing at what point in the market the Blues tend to tie up their deals, we will focus on the summer windows of 2018, 2019 and 2020.

• 37% of Everton’s summer signings have been confirmed on deadline day (including Zouma’s loan which wasn’t ratified until a day later)
• 26% of the Blues’ signings in that period have arrived inside the final week of the window
• 31% have been signed inside the opening two months of the window

I wouldn't say that's much of a spread is it? It's just broken down in a really weird way that makes it sound like the last week of the window is the same sort of timeframe as the first two months of the window. There's a massive leaning towards very late deals there. Not saying that's a bad thing necessarily, but it's clearly what it shows.

It usually depends what player it is and whether they’re key to their club achieving something that season. But if we were in the hunt for Europe come January I’d say it’s probably worth spending a little bit more to get a player in that would improve us and give us a better chance in the run in rather than plod on and waste half a season limping to 8th place.

This is spot on. Players in general do not cost more in January, it's just that buying clubs are often desperate and can be taking advantage of, and you might have to pay a premium for players clubs don't want to sell. We'd want more for Richarlison if we were selling him in January, but not for Sigurdsson, Bernard, Kenny etc. I think it's pretty important to get Europe this year, if the opportunity is there to get the right quality in in January I'd hope we'd take it.

The club hasn’t had a whole lot of consistency over the last six or seven years, I’d much prefer Brands stay and re-sign (even if it was only for a two year contract). I think it’s important that we continue to work and grow on what Carlo/Brands and the club has been trying two do.

If we see a new DOF come in we’ll no doubt see a massive change in strategy and philosophies. I really don’t think the club needs to go through yet another transition, we’re really overdue some consistency.

He's already spunked over £250 million on tat how much do you think he should be given to actually have a team capable of challenging for the top 6 spots?

Let Carlo pick the DOF who suits his way of playing and back him to the hilt in January/summer.

Once the stadium is granted PP Usmanov can lash a naming rights deal on us which would sort us out FFP wise and the way Kean is scoring at PSG we'll get atleast £30+ million for him in the summer.

Not really mate - Spurs were talking to Jose whilst Poch was still in a job.

If there is no news before January then he'll likely be staying but I wouldn't be so sure with just 2 months of his contract left and there being no news.
