But that’s a different thing to players being more expensive in January isn’t it? Do you think Iwobi would’ve cost us £50m in January?
Or they’re both a sort of “tax”? I think it’s naive to think players aren’t often more expensive in Jan than normal.
It usually depends what player it is and whether they’re key to their club achieving something that season. But if we were in the hunt for Europe come January I’d say it’s probably worth spending a little bit more to get a player in that would improve us and give us a better chance in the run in rather than plod on and waste half a season limping to 8th place.
Agree we should shop if we can. Not sure we will though.
