The fact this is week two of no striker on the bench is a complete shambles
Not every player has to be obscenely expensive you could bring in a younger player to develop or look to the youth team? I know we have a limited budget and shifting Kean and Walcott probably helped the wage bill and I know we can't sort everything in one window but we are so so light on the right and up front. Richy plays his best on the left or up front you move him from there and then who do you play left? Same on the right James is out who do we put there and who else do we have with pace to play on the right? Gordon or Bernard or Iwobi are all steps down sadly. I like Gordon but he is a kid the other two flatter to deceive or are poor. My hope is we have our eyes on someone who can play across the front line with pace for Jan/next summer. But having five CBs and not one back up to James or no like for like for DCL means we may have a ceiling this season.

If you got no one but trash lined up then you dont sanction the departure of Walcott and Kean, leaving us short of numbers. Both have incidentally proved useful for their new clubs
Then why t f did we buy him? I thought we were only buying players that both the manager and the dof agreed on?
We don't really seem to have any kind of a recruitment strategy though, even the players brought in this summer (as good as they are/have been) 2 are just players who have played for the manager previously so no real scouting involved with them as we know what we are getting and Doucoure is someone we have been trying to get for a while. Then yet again we seem to be short in certain areas of the pitch like the whole of the right hand side and Kean (who was rubbish) but no backup being brought in and now we are being linked with Isco who for me is just a big NO. I really don't understand what our recruitment policy is tbh, it seems quite random.
What about them, Branthwaite is a CB who can't even head the ball and i hav'nt seen enough of Godfrey to make any kind of judgment tbh. Even then that is not the point i am making, i just don't really get what our recruitment strategy is, it's all very random imo.You omitted Godfrey and Branthwaite.

Totally agree, brands have left me feeling deflated. I hope he gets a one year extension in the summer as in his defence, he had such a tough job and it obviously restricted him, but i wouldn't be gutted if he didn't get an extension. Him leaving us short at centre back and then making that same mistake this summer in attack is very amateur and nothing to do with the hard job he has in offloading players.
The reason I'm not for offloading him is because again its another Change, another person with new ideas and another restart with strategy policies.

2 Strikers and 5 forwards in total. There are 2 strikers on the bench?
Out of those 7 players Carlo apparently only trusts 3 of them to start the match.2 Strikers and 5 forwards in total.
