It’s what he’s employed to do though, he knew what he was taking on and is paid very very well.

It's impossible, all you can do is buy out their contracts or loan them out until their contracts end.

If you're the buying club would you want to pay say Bolasie 80k on a 2/3 year deal? Not a chance in this climate. You'd think 50k tops as a punt he might discover his form. So you ask Bolasie does he want to take a near 50% pay cut and he says no I'm fine thanks here. As it is his last season we may be able to say take half your wages for this year, become a free agent, find a club who will pay you a signing on fee and 30/40k. Even then no guarantees he takes that.

Interesting, if in you view the signing was good it was down to the manager, if bad in your view it was down to Brands. How do you know to what degree the manager at the time or Brands was involved in each signing?

You just use figures etc to suit your agenda with no actual proof.
I said Digne was a good signing,

There are ways though, nobody is saying it is easy but it's 3 years now and the key deadwood (the ones who's wages are really strangling the club) are still all here.

You can't force clubs to purchase crap players. Would you be happy if a team tried to get us to buy their trash players?

They've all, for the most part, at least been sent on loans to get wages away.

Nobody is trying to force anything, but you can pay up contracts or you can reduce the actual transfer fee to a reasonable amount so the buying club just has mostly worry about the wages. If the club has a sensible meeting with the player and agent concerned and it's explained that they don't feature in the managers plans and it's best for their career to go elsewhere, then it's within the agent/players best interest to move on. Endless loans and sitting on contracts are not the answer imo. Tbh i just can't wait till we kick a load of them out at the end of the season

He’s responsible for the football on the pitch. His job is to put in place managerial and playing talent. We’ve gone from Allardyce to Ancelotti managing James Rodriguez. People can say it’s Moshiri or Ancelotti or whoever, but ultimately we got worse on the pitch under Walsh, and under Brands we’ve improved massively.

At no point did the lack of CB last summer hurt us.
It defo did though. We were rubbish at the back all season, a new centre back may well have prevented that. The fact we were willing to drop £25m on a new one this summer is evidence of that really. That's ignoring the fact we probably had people playing when they weren't fully fit because there was no cover for them, and we did end up throwing a kid in and getting a couple of hidings, but nobody cared by that point so it's kind of forgotten about or put down as a positive.

IMO it didn't, it was stupid to not get 1 and not getting a forward this window will also be stupid, but it didn't impact us at all.
