Of course it was, Sigurdsson is soooooo slow, you could see the difference today with Iwobi in the side instead of him, we had pace, movement and urgency in the final third, something we lack when Sigurdsson is playing.

To be fair.. of all the changes that were made to the lineup on Saturday I think Sigurdsson being dropped was the one that benefitted least. I'd probably argue that, if he had started over Iwobi, we would've carried even more goal threat and I actually do like Iwobi.

For me it was the Gomes & Davies midfield, along with Sidibe for Coleman, which were the big positives. Richarlison playing up top worked on the day as well like.

That said.. I do think Iwobi should continue at number 10 for a bit.

I'd say the exact opposite. Iwobi actually looking for the ball and getting involved in general build up play gave the midfield more options and created space for the wide players. It was so much better than watching Sigurdsson hanging around at the edge of the box waiting for the ball.

Should never have been put on such a high pedestal by so many, so quickly. Never felt that way considering we achieved nothing of significance on the pitch in a positive sense since he’s been here.

Personally I’ve never been been a big fan of the director of football role and we don’t know how close he works with the manager in terms of deciding on the player to bring in.

Hope it all balances out and I can join the brands hype train at some point.

He's done a lot of good things but he's dropped the ball this summer, this CB(who is to blame, it was silva held out too long for Zouma) and not getting a striker ready to start for the first team. It's tarnished his rep a bit.
