Manchester United

Was always a crazy signing. Obviously his form would decline and they’d be stuck with a player on insane wages but they offered him a mad lengthy contract anyways. Bet he couldn’t believe his luck.

They’re years away from challenging again.
Can't blend a core of home produced players earning less collectively than Johnny come lately international superstar. When there are cliques in the dressing room it doesn't produce a good team environment. Ferguson wouldn't wear a minute of it, shape up or I'll ship you out.
They've not been ruthless like him since.
I mean, they've been ruthless with the cleaners and cooks, and whoever they made redundant that used to look after the roof. But on the pitch, they've pandered to throwing money around hoping spending more than everyone else will get them the quality.
Cash only buys so much quality, can't buy dignity, and belief, and hunger.

That soliloquy from Layer cake glances through my mind again... "You're born, you take spit*. You get out in the world, you take more spit*. You climb a little higher, take less spit*. Till one day you're in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what spit* even looks like."

Entitlement breeds complacency. Only one direction to go from the top.

Saw something earlier on TikTok or something and it listed out about 8-9 players like him, Rashford, Sancho etc that binning would save them £88m per year in wages alone.

They are in a terrible mess, its great to see.

I think they are that bad now they are losing some of there pulling power.
Not sure many top players would want to go there now.
Talking to a work mate who’s a Man Utd fan, I said I see so much of Everton in your side, and it took practically 4/5 years to clear the way. They need the same from Amorim’s appointment and shift out one way and balance the books the other.

I joked that Dyche would be a good option there in consistency, depending on what kind of consistency you want.

They would need to be humble enough to accept 2-3 seasons of stripping back and not challenging. No chance the entitled bloaters will accept it. They’ll keep trying to spend to get out their mess before some Middle Eastern consortium ends up having to rescue them by buying them out.

Is he under pressure already?

Shocking that like
Suppose whoever you are. your under pressure been with them. Maybe hes not as good as made out. surely any boss should be able to get something out of most players. Not have press etc say its not his team/players

They are like Blockbusters: great in the day (the brand for the weekend), but they have slowly sleep-walked into a crisis that is only getting deeper and deeper.

Old Trafford is a dump, Carrington has been starved as investment (being there regularly, it's shabby!) and they have spent hundreds of millions on rubbish.

Out of today's starting XI, how many would get into most of the top six teams? Top eight? K'in ell, how many would we take off them, even on the cheap?

I even checked for injuries and it's Shaw, Martinez, Mount, Evans, Diallo and Eriksen, so you couldn't even say that is a real issue. It's just a poor squad!

With how much they have wasted on spending and PSR, they are going to struggle to rebuild quickly, and that's only if they can get rid of lots of the dross.

They aren't going down this year (not with the teams below them), although I do think they may continue to slip into midtable abyss for a year or two.
