The Glazers have really been quite masterful haven't they? They bought the club and then loaded the debt used to buy the club onto the club. Then they sell a minority stake to Ratcliffe, who gets all of the heat for the club being crap, while they continue to coin it in.

How much did they nominally pay back in the day? I have £900M in my head
Anyway they basically sold 25% for the same price
So they're still sat on a fortune, while Ratcliffe has all the hassle

Was always a crazy signing. Obviously his form would decline and they’d be stuck with a player on insane wages but they offered him a mad lengthy contract anyways. Bet he couldn’t believe his luck.
