city and their fans should be enjoying their success even if it is from petrodollars , they have a really good team and will probably win the CL , but for a lot them there is a ranting bizarre obsession with United that goes beyond football rivalry and banter , they see themselves as paragons of virtue against an Evil Empire which is completely ridiculous

I think so too. Lidderpewl not getting into the CL would appease the fans somewhat at United and throw the negative spotlight on them giving the Glaziers a less rough ride. It's certainly in United's best interests to kick the rs when they are down.

Made up they beat Villa as hopefully now they aren't as fussed about the Leicester game, let Leicester win and then beat Liverpool would be ideal but no doubt the opposite will happen

I'm hoping the Glazers turn Old Trafford into a multi storey car park. They are likely to lose both their midweek games now which will end even any outside chance we had of top 4. United would have beaten our loveable neighbours who must now be favourites to steal 4th given their run in. The alternative would be to give United a punishment of a 10 point deduction for failing to fulfill a fixture then they would have to play to win to qualify themselves.
