Look the wages are completely crazy at all the top clubs , 350 grand a week is ridiculous but if you were offered that would you turn it down , United need to pay big money to compete with the other big players , but its far removed from the fans and detached from reality , this kind of thing is only a reflection on the type of rancid society we now live in

The fans now treated as cash cows paying for season tickets covid certificates and paying thousands more for the mega TV deals , sport allows the people to escape from reality of the rat race we all live in

City Never finished 25 points clear of anyone in the top 6 last season, West Ham in 6th and finished 21 points behind City.

Spurs finished 7th and 26 points behind.

Real Madrid didn't even offer him a new contract and let him go easily, a reason for that and it's the alarming 2 seasons he's just had.

But United fans cannot complain about the glazers now, the package for Varane is £154 million for 5 seasons with the fee, signing on fee and £400k a week wages.

Varane and Sancho will be picking up 750K combined a week, that is some outlay.

The new DoF at United to be right up there needs to be winning League titles and CL's or EL trophies to be even considered a top DoF, that's the benchmark trophies to win, cannot say he's any good with nothing won under him in 2 years so far.

A team put together with the 3rd highest wage bill in football history should be getting a lot closer to winning any of the 4 trophies they were in last season. They were miles off winning any of them.

As for Madrid, yes curious they wanted to move him on, but they are raising funds and do odd things like that. Hes been injured a bit, but theres no doubting his pedigree. I would only put Ramos, VVD, Koulibaly and Dias in the same conversation as him.

Has the DOF been in the job 2 years? I thought he had just taken over? But yes they need to be competing to win, and ultimately winning trophies given the outlay, and they may well frequent the need to get a more experienced manager in.

However a top 2 finish last season and a European final, with a far smaller wage bill than Liverpool was a big positive. I can see them pulling further away from Liverpool too, who have spent the same amount United have spent on a Van Dijk esque defender, on a lad who wasnt even 1st choice for a German team.

I doubt united will get any further with OGS in charge, even with 17 penalties in the league, they only mustered a measly 73 points when one team was ravaged by injuries and the other had another joke of a manager in Lampard for 22 games in charge.

Norwich scarves will be out again next season, blaming the Glazers again.

Theyve improved their team further though, and have a young squad dont they? Maybe Chelsea overtake them, but City and especially Liverpool are in decline, so I cant see lower than 3rd for them. There will probably be an even bigger gap between the top 3 (of them, City and Chelsea) and the rest unfortunately.

United are still short i think , would like to see another creative midfielder and top striker , if Pogba goes for 50 million maybe we go for somebody like Ward Prowse or Neves , also to challenge for the top prizes you need the winning mentality in the last couple of years we have not shown that in crunch games

You look at the squad and it's not a league winning squad and not a trophy winning manager. Lots of signings are required and a top manager. Too late now.

Big Positive? for who? They failed. They were nowhere near City like everyone else in the league and the bottled the European final.

The thing with OGS when he has a defining game, he fails big time, 4 semi finals I think it is and an absolute bottle job against Villarreal in his only final, tactically he's inept as they come, last summer he said they were going to be a pressing highline team, they were nowhere near the top for pressing stats, and you cannot play a highline when you have Maguire who's slow and turns like a tugboat, few weeks ago he said they will be a 433 team, it won't be long till he switch's back to safe and easy 4231 with the awful McFred midfield 2.

If United were serious contenders OGS would have been sacked as soon as they lost that Europa league final.

I heard a United fan on the radio say the squad is hopefully “ole proof” - meaning it’s so talented with enough depth to counteract his flaws as a manager. I’d suggest their midfield is still a little short to be totally Ole proof and they will still have to play to his tactics and system. If he’s nowhere near city this year he has to go.

I tell you what, he completely outfoxed Klopp last season. Not bad for a guy who is as tactically inept as they come.
