They should Be favourites for the title.

But they have Ole as manager so won't be.

I'm predicting though when they are not in an outright title challenge by March and to far back, the Norwich scarves will come out in force and the anti glazer sentiment about having terrible owners who don't spend money will be back!!!

Think you lot should be now back on the PEDs with the covid testing reducing.

I think the appintment of Matt Judge this Murtough guy has made a big difference to the transfer strategy , i think a few leave maybe Lingard , van de beek possibly Pogba to fund for Trippier and maybe another midfielder , whether we can challenge for the title im not sure , the oil rig , the victims and the chavs are all strong at the moment

A kid who plays football manager would have chose Sancho and Varane if they were available.

It's his first summer at the transfer chief, nothing impressive yet besides paying 75 million and £350 a week for sancho and a week and signing the quickly regressing Varane with a £400k a week package, massive signing on fee with a total package of £154 million for 5 season while having no competition for either signing.

Looks a easy job for Murtough so far, i wouldn't be putting him on par with Monche, Moratti, Edwards and Granovskaia. who are the best in football right now.

I'm sorry but this is complete nonsense.

Edwards has built a squad to the wage cost of the 3rd highest in football history and they finished about 25 points off the title last season. The idea he is the best in the business is laughable.

As for United, he has bought a world class centre back, for about the same money Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs have bought potential. Varane is right up there with VVD, Ramos, Koulibaly etc as a leading CB in world football.

As for the DOF, if he worked with a top draw manager of the calibre of say Klopp, Tuchel or Pep United will be right up there challenging. This is last chance saloon for OGS I sense.

Spend a fortune, not win a league and then blame it all on American owners. I can't think where I have heard that script before.

City Never finished 25 points clear of anyone in the top 6 last season, West Ham in 6th and finished 21 points behind City.

Spurs finished 7th and 26 points behind.

Real Madrid didn't even offer him a new contract and let him go easily, a reason for that and it's the alarming 2 seasons he's just had.

But United fans cannot complain about the glazers now, the package for Varane is £154 million for 5 seasons with the fee, signing on fee and £400k a week wages.

Varane and Sancho will be picking up 750K combined a week, that is some outlay.

The new DoF at United to be right up there needs to be winning League titles and CL's or EL trophies to be even considered a top DoF, that's the benchmark trophies to win, cannot say he's any good with nothing won under him in 2 years so far.
