I do wish some of our players would stop talking about a victory over a 'big team' (yes you Howard). City should never, ever be described as big in relation to Everton. Someone should make that point stick with these players. Beating City is like beating Bolton or Blackburn to me. Lancastrians that need to be dispatched with ease.

Laughed at this one.

I agree.

Yes - they may want to say "big budget team"... but as a club - to ever describe Manchester City as bigger than us is LAUGHABLE.

But Howard shouldn't be saying "big team".

I mean what are Everton then if we aren't a big ******* team?

Jesus H Christ. When ever I go anywhere I bump into Evertonians.

We're like a plague or something. An STI.

We get EVERYWHERE.

Ask LCAB.

HAHA!

Why are some people moaning about the way we played last night?? At this moment in time points are all that matters!

We have played some good football this season and come away with nothing, I think this win will bring back alot of confidence to the players.

I'll second that. WE ARE EVERYWHERE AND FROM ALL OVER!!!

I was out shopping in Finchley in my Everton hoodie only yesterday and let on to a lad in an Everton ski hat. Quick chat about the game then off to get the bus.

The places I've been and bumped into an Evertonian mate....

could fill one of LCAB's sunday sermons. Timbuktoo etc. Odds are there's an Evertonian there.

God knows how many we've all bumped into.

Its like some attraction. We're all destined to meet each other eventually.

Please tell me you don't really think this? Best game! I am embarrassed how we played, our defending was eratic, apart from the goals (two attacks) we had nothing going forward. We did exactly what people on here **** other teams off for doing at goodison. But i have never seen any team as negative at goodison as we were last night.(even before the sending off) Why when we lost victor did we not try and keep possession, work for each other by moving into space, NO we was content on hoofing the ball straight back to them and sitting on our own penalty box. we are well and truly back to being the most direct, hoofball, boring team in the premiership!!.

Neville did an article a few weeks back suggesting we would be going more direct, my heart sank. It has become a reallity, moyes is back in his comfort zone and us poor sods who have committed to season tickets will have to watch this boring unamaganative, direct, [Poor language removed] football until he leaves.

Nice to get three points though.

Other than when Jags came off and we had 10 men the defending was anything but erratic. Why wouldn't you defend deep against a squad that doesn't score too many goals and we had a 2 goal lead?

Sometimes you have to be direct (I don't think we were today either). We tried the whole lets just keep possession and it hasn't worked out so well has it? If anything City played the way we've been playing all year. Dominating possession with no end product.

Its like when you see another evertonian when your out and about, on holiday, at work, anywhere, even when u dont know who the fck they are its just that sort of nod of approval you give each other as if to say 'we are evertonians, n proud of it, fck the rest'.

This is wasted in this thread.

Anyone wanna start a Thread dedicated to this??? I'll do it if you lads promise to repost this stuff.

Playing 5-aside with work wearing my Everton shirt of course. After the game as I was walking to my car and this lad was walking the other way to play with his mates after us, wearing a Danka Everton shirt.

I gave him the said nod of approval...

Best part of the match in my opinion was seeing the team celebrate together after the final whistle. The team knew they did something together that was truly great, especially defensively. The team clearly had stated that they were going to do all they could to keep shots away from howard, and howard stepped up with some immense saves for the few that made it through the gauntlet of everton legs. Clearly the team had Howard's back, and Howard had their back. We played as a team and celebrated like it. It was beautiful...

Compare that to Yaya Toure's celebration after it went 2-1.

There was a very REAL possibility City could have tied the game or even won it last night if they took their chances, and yet the teams celebration when it went to 2-1 was "ahh well".

Horrible bunch, they are.
