Three hours ago I would have been cock a hoop with the prospect of that scoreline.

I am disappointed no attempt was made to ram home the advantage against ten men.

For the entire duration of the second half one would have thought Everton were the team playing without one of their men :(

Still, solid enough start after the first two games.

On to Chelsea this weekend ;)

Yeah, I am disappointed we didn't hold out but let's look at the whole thing.

Would you take a point.. hell yeah
Would you take a 1-0 lead at h-t - hell yeah
Would you take 0-0 at the break with City down to 10 - hell yeah

But, firstly we're not good at holding these leads 10 or 11 oppos - remember losing at the Pit.. (Gerrard after 15 mins) - embarrassed then - you bet.

City are pretty good though and we've done a job on teams with 10 before let's be fair.. we're getting there and there were plenty of super performances tonight. Pickford, Holgate, Jags, Keane, Davies, Rooney, DCL, Gueye.. so come on.. it's a damn good effort and you don't get what you want all the time.

Klaassen for Davies made sense. I think Ronko got too excited about shoehorning Sigurdsson into the lineup. Never should have taken Ash off. Otherwise a tactically strong game made possible by DCL's hold up play.

A lot of people acting like it was 11 v 11 and we earned a point. We had a man advantage and City played like they had a two man advantage.

A point is a point but being a man up surely you come out at half and try for a second.
Yeah ok......You have no understanding of football .......:bye:

I'd usually agree with davek to be honest about us going too negative.

But there's a few factors as to why it wasn't plausible to go gung ho. We'd already got the lead, this is a new side still gelling together and it's more important to keep games tight whilst this is happening, especially with this fixture list to start. It's not like Moyes 2011 where we had nothing to lose by putting City to the sword at 10 men - they're a vastly technically superior side to us and would pick us apart even with the 10.

I'm giving Koeman a pass on this one. I can see the logic in what he did, whereas I couldn't with Moyes back then.

On one hand, disappointing to let any team dominate you with 10 men.

On the other hand, the team is still getting to know each other and we've got a point more than most people expected before the game.

In conclusion, happy with a point but we need to learn from that to get something out of the next few games.

A good and arguably fair result. That was miles better than last year at City... which was the most undeserved point of the season.
