Just home. Absolutely gutted. Especially for my two lads. Neither were born since we last won a trophy. Theyve grown up as Blues (my job done there). They went to Fa Cup final in 2009 and Semis v RS in 2012. Both grown up now and desperate to win a cup. When Ross scored tonight we all began to dream. But yet again we conceded 3 goals in a game. My youngest who is 17 said it was worth it while it lasted (celebrations after Ross scored). I just wish we could nail a win in a big game like this. It seems beyond us.
City are a quality outfit but at 1-1 we were mystified by the substitutions. Particularly Kone. What did he bring? We just didnt play in last half hour and invited City on. Looking right at the Manager here. Pressure building on him from here on in.

You know what, I really hope Martinez walks, deserves better support. You all did see Del blowing after an hour right? And Lukaku not getting much support? That's why Kone was brought on, to hold up the ball and bring Rom more into it. We still had Barkley's pace and Rom's to cause damage but it didn't happen did it? That's on the players themselves

Agreed. I too have an enormous amount of respect for Martinez. But it's clear now that he needs a good defensive coach to work alongside him. If we already have one then some of the blame going to Martinez needs to be levelled against him.

Conceding 8million hoals in 17 matches cant all be down to luck.

Its no longer a matter of if we get done robbed by the bent officials , it is now a matter of just how.

No longer gutted , becoming immune to it

Totally agree we needs to shuffle the pack with the team, try some youngster we were better when Galloway was playing also we have Garbutt to come back do we need Baines as much as we use to, Barry though ok he always looks laboured, IMO Stones mind is elsewhere ( I'd love to see him go this window). TBH we are in a right old mess and the leader hasn't a clue what to do.

Barry is an enigma: a good footballing brain, but perhaps a bit off the pace now, and hence always a hair's breadth from a card or two. We need his mentality but at the same time he's a liability.

Del coming off I can understand. Was injured, seemed to be getting frustrated.

But at 1-1 it just has to be Pienaar coming on for the last half hour. He wins freekicks high up the pitch, holds onto the ball, just sees games out in a 'professional' way. I would have kept Osman on for much the same thing.

Kone has been rank awful for months, yet comes on instead of Lennon. Cleverley is just plain horrendous and managed a full 90 minutes again.

It's at the manager's door again

That's spectacularly wrong. Barry is a liability - do you actually think that?

As bad a decision as you'll ever see...

Just wanted to say hard luck Everton. Difference for me was aguero as is so often the case. So lucky to have him. Other than that not much in it over two legs as the aggregate score reflected. Disappointed to read on here cheap shots about city being a charade, oil money etc etc etc. I was at places like Lincoln away watching us get beat with lee Bradbury up front not so long ago so a charade I am not. Must say I was astonished Martinez took off delafou, he had demichelis in his back pocket, I think taking him off gave us a break and allowed us more and more possession. Also stones looks like his head is elsewhere. Could have gone either way in the end, Atkinson was [Poor language removed] both ways but can't blame him for our second, linesman was out of position and 40 yards away. Anyway wish you luck for the rest of the season.
Aguero is class mate. Top quality. He was a difference between sides, but not the only difference. Game was evenly balanced at 1-1 (on the night). You got a bit lucky with your first goal but we had some luck to as you hit the post twice.
For me, the substitutions we made we were strange. Kone was seemingly brought on to hold the ball up. But he didnt do it. Plus Stones became exposed in the last half hour. This was at 1-1 remember. It was like Martinez was saying to City "see if you can score 2 in last 30 mins". And with the quality you have, you obliged. Hope you win final for obvious reasons. I'm old enough to remember/know that City have always had a good following and top away support. There may be some glory hunters as is inevitable in this day and age. I wouldnt take that to heart because its well known that the majority of City fans have suffered aplenty in the past! As have we. I only wish we could follow suit and get some serious backing. We're crying out for it. Good luck in thr final.

Without him breaking up play there would've been more goals.

Do people not like him because he isn't a dynamic attacking player? Because I feel the need for everyone on the pitch to be like that is sort of our problem at the moment....

Been a defender of Kone in the past, but he was the wrong substitution tonight. Instead of attempting to hold possession, we should have put pace up top to pin them back, and potentially counter. Lennon was the obvious choice to be honest. This has lost us our biggest opportunity of a cup in years. Disappointing. Always been a staunch Martinez supporter myself, but last few games have been very questionable.

Kone for Del.
Coleman on to chase the game.
One win in twelve in the league.
1.5 goals per game conceded in our last fifteen which includes games against lower league opposition.
We are failing tactically.
Just got home, not happy.
Apparently "the young players can take inspiration from tonight".
Enough now.
