the game was there for the taking and considering there attacking players i dont think they caused us to much trouble, i was worried having liverpool and man utd away but we got a point at liverpool and should of got something from the game yesterday, osman made an impact when he came on, still dissapointed with lukakus contribution, the second goal was very poor, howard should of put it in row z , but stones cant avoid some criticism, he needs to be switched on more for that goal , he just needs to learn when he needs to step up with the rest of the defence, altho 9 times out of ten the linesman gives offside there(even tho it was on) he looked a mile off and normally the flag would go up, not a bad performance but still needs more urgency , shame we got at them to late. penalty misses happen nowt we can do. still worrying all the injuries, probably lost 5 of our main players now. hopefully we will kick on second half of season and do well in europa and fa cup, can still be a good season.
The offside decisions where worrying on sunday. Tv showed a lot of boarder line off sides for both side they got away with the important ones we were off side every time

That's the advantage the monied teams always get. It's the 50/50 decisions throughout games.

needs to get in the box if he wants to score. Last week stuck out on the right, yesterday 'inside left'. It's obvious he is low on confidence, but can't work out whether it is Martinez's tactics, the slow build-up play, or his lack of confidence that it stopping him get in good positions.
Every time we played the ball up long to him, the utd fans were crapping themselves. They had as little confidence in their defence as we have in our striker

Last season we had fantastic wingers. This season our wingers are awful.

We also played with Barkley instead of Naismith. We'll see Lukaku hitting form once Ross is back.

noticed several times during the game that the linesman down our end was never up with play. Even though Falcao was not off, he could not have given it even if he was

Well, coming into work yesterday was quite mild.

Work with dozens of United fans (in Sale), and they were quite complimentary of us.

They were scared hanging on at the end.
Our defence was good, they were limited on clear cut chances.
2nd half pushed them back more.
Obvious we had our best players out, but still looked good, and kept the ball well.

i'd disagree about last year - Mirallas was inconsistent, Del boy more so, and McGeady had no impact whatsoever when he arrived. Also Lukaku had a poor second half of the season. I don't know, things just went for us then, and they're not now.
As for the return of Barkley, that's the next dilemma: do we drop our leading goal scorer? I don't think Naismith is good enough to play out wide, nor up top. Glad i don't have to make that decision!

Lukaku was injured for half of that second half like. Difficult to maintain good form coming back from injury.
Agreed that Mirallas was inconsistent, but despite that produced a reasonable output (which made him frustrating as if he produced consistently he'd be like Hazard for us), Pienaar was good in patches, Del was inconsistent and McGeady was unfit. However when one was unfit or out of form we could play another and vice versa which hasn't really been the case this year. 2 have been injured most of the time really and we've lacked the drive from Ross to create space.

I'm not so sure it is because of the money, Ad.

It is more hometown advantage, I think.

When United played Leicester for example, the penno the home team got to score their equaliser should have been a free kick the other way as that Rafael had been fouled.

Plus on Sunday we got away with one when either Besic or Stones had a hand raised in the box and to quote the old cliche, "I've seen those given".

This is it.

And now the initial disappointment has gone and it is possible to think rationally about the game, by 'Eck we gave them a good pasting in that second half and were extremely unlucky not to take at least a point.

And all this without our four best players.

I don't think there are any grounds for despondency yet and with a run of winnable fixtures now coming up, I am more than hopeful we will start picking up wins.

Sky had video of him doing a nut at the referee in the tunnel

This would worry me.

It is one thing pointing the finger at the ref in a TV interview in order to deflect criticism from your players.....but for him to be going postal at the ref in the tunnel suggests he actually believes their winning goal was the fault of the ref.

The goal came about by bad decision making from our goalie compounded by slack defending when the ball was played back in.

If Bobby believes otherwise then we really are in trouble.

Del and Mirallas could hurt teams and Pienaar especially around the start of the season was decent. They might have been inconsistent but what wingers aren't excluding the really great ones. However McGeady never looks like he's going to do anything, Atsu hasn't impressed, Piennar is either finished or will need a lot of time to get back as he's far off it and Mirallas is injured.

However we don't need to do either of those options regarding Naismith.

Given we have no wide players it's pretty clear we need to play a diamond with Naismith and Lukaku up top together and Barkley behind.

It puts a lot of offensive pressure on Barkley, Coleman and Baines to create the chances but frankly they're our best offensive players ironically considering two are defenders.

It might turn out to be a blessing in disguise because that's the formation I would have played from the start although I would have played Mirallas instead of Naismith.

Stop talking sense.(n)

How has he saved that one from Oviedo.

Look at his starting position.

It wasn't that fast pace a shot from Bryan. Still great technique but the way it bounced up in front of him made it hard to get pace and gave De Gea the chance to get up. In my opinion it was a save he should be making.
