We were terrible in our approach tbh. Facing a team with an awful defence and couldn't even muster up a chance in 45 minutes until they gifted us a penalty.

We were good for 5 minutes after Naismith's goal when they look rattled and 10 minutes at the end. We were crap the rest.

They were the home team facing an equally questionable defence. After two tough away games it was to be expected that we'd look to consolidate for the first 20 mins or so, and that's what we did, and that they'd come at us...which the kind of did. With Mirallas, Coleman and Atsu out we had no pace, none at all so a slower game was to be expected.

We stroked it around at times and I thought a few players had a decent game, but I thought, as we have for most of the season, lacked any real cutting edge going forward.

De Gea made some cracking saves and Baines missed a peno, on another day we win or at least take a point, but overall I wasnt impressed with what I saw, certain players let us down big time and the manager was slow to make the correct subs at the right time.

United aint all dat and as I said, we should have at least took a point.
Not sure we had anything on the bench to change it today....Browning for Hibbert could have happened earlier especially with Di Maria likely to get after a defender who's played two games in two years and both in the same week. Fine margins.....very fine margins - we'll play worse and win this season.

Im not being doom and gloom for the sake of it and I dont wish to be all "if we had", but we did have better players missing then them.

They had a 19 year old CB playing like his 2nd game, but the players he replaced are freaking Johnny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, LOL.

So yeah, Coleman, Mirallas, Barkley and McCarthy, SAKE.

I based it on the match I saw today mate, im pretty sure both teams will play much better between now and May.
I think Van Gaal could be gone in the summer. I thought they turned a corner against QPR but QPR are just that bad. The rest of the time I've saw little progress in their play especially given the "talent" the manager has to work with.

Di Maria might get them top 4 but frankly I think Spurs must look favorites at the moment.

Di Maria up against an ageing and tired Tony Hibbert was the problem....had Seamus been there it may well have been very different. Seeing Di Maria roasting our full back brought back the nightmares of Benfica away.....

Hibbert played DiMaria better than anyone else has this season. In fact in the three games he's stood in for Coleman he's been one of our better players. He's not a 'modern' wingback type, but defensively he's not let us down.
