just watched the interview with our manager after the game. So here it is lads, we are improving in every match, their second goal was the ref's fault and their keeper kept them in it. Embarrassing !
What is said to the media will be very different to what is said amongst the team.

Do you want Roberto to say 'Sorry everton fans we've been [Poor language removed] for a while and lukaku is pissing me off with all the faffing about put the ball in the net ffs!'

Well he's right about De Gea. And we were better today than against Palace or Liverpool (admittedly not hard). I slated him about what he said on their goal though. I can see why he's protecting howard but in private i think he (howard) needs a rollocking
He needs dropped.

Because he gets out muscled by CBs who tend to be stronger than FBs.

It's my biggest complaint with him. He doesn't bully defenders and you would think he would have the strength to do so but he's only 21, you get a lot more natural strength as you age.
yeh because he needs a bit more bulk doesn't he.Todays opta stats for rom after 94 mins. 1 attacking header won (missed target). 1 shot at goal (of target). whilst being marked by a stick thin kid in his first couple of starts for the club.

I'd like him to admit that we are playing awful; we are paying money to watch this

They have options in midfield and attack, who are fit, we don't. So are we all saying the defence was fine then?
I'm either being an idiot here and got myself confused about the point you're trying to make, or we've mixed up what we meant.

Our team, fit with Coleman Mirallas etc, would have destroyed Man U today no questions asked.

Hibbert, led to howards situation!

Jus' Sayin.

Was that when he didn't get onto that pretty sexy Besic pass? Apart from that, can't fault Hibbo today. Would've brought Browning on sooner though as he pushed us up the pitch an extra 15 yards - Martinez being daft with subs again.

But all Howard needed to do was lump it into row z. He'd run out 30 yards from his goal, so why the hell didn't he just knock it out. We'd have regrouped and brought Oviedo on. If United had have scored straight from the throw then fair enough, but I doubt they would have. We were building up a head of steam and he totally scrapped that.

Blimey. Some context.

We have played Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea & Arsenal. We have had our 4 best players injured, sometimes all at once. We are scoring goals, not for fun, but reliably. And pretty much every goal we have conceded has been either a poor individual error, or the sort of bad luck that happens once or twice a season. Like Utds second today.

Today, we didnt look great, admittedly, but Baines missed his first penalty. Ever. And even Schmichael said that De Gea won the points for Utd with, to quote, "3 extraordinary saves".

We looked fitter than Utd, after spending most of last week in an aeroplane, sit on top of what was proclaimed as the toughest group in the EL, and have been playing a right back who hasnt started a game for 2 years. And who hasnt let us down, despite the predictions of many.

Still frustrating mind.

Fair enough. But tbh, losing 2-1 to man u in the manner that we did (missing a peno and de gea world class saves), isn't worth of Roberto saying to the world that his team was poor today etc. It would have such a negative effect surely? We weren't as bad as we could've been at all.

Now if we had lost 4/5-1 and capitulated after their second goal, i'd want him to own up, but not at 2-1.. it could've been very different

Costa had two shots on goal today - he scored one. Rom usually only needs one chance and he'll score (see Palace, West Brom). On each of this occasions he was running towards/facing goal.

No but someone like Mourinho comes out and either blames his team or creates a distraction depending on what suits his team most at the time

Endless positivity just sounds delusional after a while.

He sounds like a politician reading from a script.

Yes, i posted about that specific pass in the hibbert thread.

Hibbo (who was solid all game imo btw), made NO EFFORT to get the ball from besic. He watched it treacle out of play. They countered us off the throw whilst we slept and howard is forced into an equally bad decision as hibbo

Our 2nd half performance was the best we've played since West Brom. All we lacked was a bit more belief and precision. Again, Martinez left the subs 5 mins too late, as we really started cutting them open when Ossie and Browning came on.

Comparing to Mourinho has made me think a little. you're quite right there.

But, if roberto started blaming finances and injuries like moyes would have, i'd be sick to death of hearing that [Poor language removed].

So positivity works for me.

At the end of the day,our team needs to believe, as much as roberto does, that we are the best.
