Koeman got it spot on in the first half but do not understand bringing on Davy and Gylfi. He got that wrong. Having said that if Holgate heads it anywhere else we probably win.

We're better than I thought going into last week and we're only in second gear at this point. Our start is absolutely brutal, but if we get through the next 3 weeks with 3 points...a win at home or three draws....we have a real chance to kick on.

DCL was immense. Really excited about his performance and his future.

Don't think anybody has mentioned this but in the last 15 mins or so we could have really done with Garth Barry, would have settled things down and got us keeping possession more. Going to miss him but can understand his reasons for wanting more game time.

Anyways on to Spilt. Just get the job done with as little exertion as possible.

Are you one of them that believes that certain lottery numbers will come up "because it hasn't for a while".
The probablity of a draw is unaffected by independent events. It's hilarious that you use "mathematically" in that sentence while being utterly anti-mathematics.

Oh, DCL by a country mile by the way.
That's the Davey Moyes school of thought right there.

Huge shame we couldn't take the game to them after they got the red card. They are without a doubt the best possession team in the league. You look at the subs they could make and it blows us out of the water. They will be fighting for title this season. Big shame we didn't have a proper go at them in the second half but most of us would have taken a point beforehand.

Cracking display, of all the teams in the league, City are best built to cope with losing a man as they dominate possession, overall a bit disappointing having held the lead that long against the 10 men, but going in would have taken a away draw every day of the week, MUCH better performance than last year at their gaff.

MoM - have to give it to Rooney - class finish but DCL showed that he is actually a striker not a winger today - hope Koeman takes note

Klaassen saved us at the end.

Davies was knackered, and as you say had got a booking.

Really, the sub that probably was the issue was Gylfi.

We needed a bit of pace for an outball and to stretch City at that point. Gylfi couldn't really get on the ball as we didn't have it, and he hasn't got the pace to run in behind.

Easy to second guess really though mate, overall i thought the team selection and tactics against them worked, our lack of genuine pace probably bit us on the arse in terms of being able to capitalise fully on the sending off, HOPEFULLY that's addressed and was seen

Ultimately slightly unhappy with a point away at Man City.

This is where we are. That's decent for now.

Twice City have had to salvage a point at home vs us throwing all they have in the second half.

Handed Guardiola his heaviest league defeat. Longest a guardiola team has failed to beat a team (3) attempts. If this is an Everton still a long way off where they want to be then we can expect great things.

DCL for me, followed by Rooney.

Jags, Holgate and Pickford also very good, despite Holgate being at fault for the goal and a couple of dodgy kicks from Pickford.

Nice to have a goalkeeper again.
