It was between DCL and Holgate for me, but Holgate cost himself with a defensive error. So DCL is it ;)

DCL was immense tonight, fantastic to see Koeman's faith in him paying dividends. Played like a true CF, led the line well and set up the goal on a plate for Rooney. Whilst I still think we need to bring in a big grock target man, DCL is certainly improving game on game. Good on him, putting in the effort and reaping the rewards.

Holgate, again, was superb and has done his claim to the RB/RWB spot no harm at all. Solid defensively and you can see the signs of the work he is doing to improve his offensive abilities. One defensive error that led to the equaliser. Don't dwell on it lad, learn from it and put it behind you. Considering he had little game time with Martina and even Davies played ahead of him, it was the perfect response. Keep it up Mason.

Holgate was brilliant apart from the soft header back into the danger area - he will learn from that. Jags and Keane were great. Silva is probably still trying to wash Gana's aftershave off him. Rooney was good for 60 mins before tiring. Klaassen gave the ball away too cheaply. Besic was Besic - some great defensive interjections but made us all groan with the attempted backheel (if it'd come off then I'd still be singing his name). MOTM was DCL: Led the line brilliantly tonight and could not have asked more from the lad.

DCL is proving everyone wrong (including myself) always puts a shift in and cause them problems in defence great performance. His stood out but great team performance as well just gutted we couldn't hold on but very happy with a point

It's a shame we had to be so defensive with our set up this evening, it left too big of a gap again between midfield and attack, but DCL handled it perfectly! and this city team will finish 1st/2nd this year, so I'd take a point all day long.

Once the new players bed in more, we'll be able to take the game to teams like this more. But the squad is looking in good shape, just a few more position to fill and then, time on the pitch...

DCL and Rooney lead the line fantastically for most of the game. Holgate worked hard, as did the rest of the back line.

I suggested yesterday, that the 5 to 1 odds on a draw were mathematically compelling. It's unusual for a full weekend fixtures to have no draws amongst the results, so the likelihood of a draw was very high.
So, from an Evertonian perspective I was disappointed with Raheem's strike...but some nice winnings certainly softens the blow

Are you one of them that believes that certain lottery numbers will come up "because it hasn't for a while".
The probablity of a draw is unaffected by independent events. It's hilarious that you use "mathematically" in that sentence while being utterly anti-mathematics.

Oh, DCL by a country mile by the way.

Before the game I said we would draw but I actually thought we would be utterly crushed. Therefore I'm quite happy. People will bang on about being a man down but you have to remember that City have multiple world class players (Bruyne, B/D Silva, Aguero) who can negate that.

Typical Everton defended so well but couldn't keep it against a Sky club away, even with eleven men for large periods to hold out. Credit to Koeman for setting up that way and to the lads for putting a shift in but his subs weren't good, allowing city an advantage. What today showed is we are still short in attacking areas but we showed some good signs of being a solid team.
