I suggested yesterday, that the 5 to 1 odds on a draw were mathematically compelling. It's unusual for a full weekend fixtures to have no draws amongst the results, so the likelihood of a draw was very high.
So, from an Evertonian perspective I was disappointed with Raheem's strike...but some nice winnings certainly softens the blow

I must say, considering we now have a number of technically proficient players, im a bit baffled as to why we couldnt string a few passes together. I know City pressed, but the extra man/space should have meant we could keep tge ball moving.

thank goodness cu cu was not on the pitch - feel sorry for Holgate great game and because of match practice, an error marked sane out of the game to get him subbed - 1-1 was a good result !

Cons:

Disappointing to, yet again, throw away 2 points away at a top side.

Ref was abysmal.

As was Besic (WTF was that backheel all about right at the death, bit of quality and DCL was through).

Badly, badly need another forward.

Pros:

Holgate (mistake aside), DCL, Jagielka all excellent.
Bit harsh but typically Evertonian .......Team needs time to integrate new players and adapt to manager's style of of play.........Now Breathe !!!

I Thought DCL was excellent , he really seems to have come on since that Europa League goal. I felt for Holgate who I thought was one of our better players on the pitch , I'd been talking about him during the game with a couple of lads and one suggested that despite his performance they always felt he had a mistake in him which sadly proved to be right .

Pickford is a superb keeper and makes such a difference not just to the defence but to the whole side , he certainly seems old beyond his years. I thought Keane seemed a little off his recent performances first half at least but then settled a bit and Rooney's influence is and is going to be massive.

So I would have absolutely snapped your hand off for a point before the game, but we set up so defensively, we just invited them onto us again and again. Make no mistake we put a shift in and some teams are going to get an absolute pasting by that City team, but there just didn't seem to be any drive from us to take control of the game when they went down to 10 men. Still a solid point though.
