Why do we need Liverpool to win the FA Cup? As long as its somebody finishing in the top 5 win then that slot goes to 6th place doesn't it? If City win the Carabao Cup then that slot goes to 7th. Did I get that right??? I wont get muddled up in the if somebody wins the Champions League or Europa Cup possibility as its well explained by your post.

I guess I wasn't clear, I meant if we get to the end of the season in 7th and it was Liverpool vs someone like Newcastle in the final and we needed the winner to be a top 5 team to give us the European place

I think even if City appeal this ruling and win, the landscape is changed utterly for them.

In future they will have to be cognisant of the rules and abide by them.

Very much agree. This situation presents us a chance at Europe, and moving forward as a club. We should focus every effort to make that happen, and drop this faux outrage over city. $%^& those oil cheats. Remember that for the first time in a long while we have a quality manager at the helm that has the ability to make good things happen.

Not sure if you follow US politics but i see this like the Trumps impeachment in the Senate. People thought whole trial thing would deter him from not doing things he'd previously done and respect rules. However the trial/acquittal have had the opposite effect, he's become even more brazen. If City win the case, FFP is dead they will spend like we've never seen before.
