Let's see how Naismith plays against a team that aren't AEK's reserves.

As for keeping players, if that's the highlight of pre season, we're in f*cking trouble.

We'd be in even more trouble if we were selling players.

Really, this pre-season has been better than most pre-seasons.

We spent money on Pienaar and signed two players on permanent deals in July, as opposed to deadline day desperation loans on August 31st.

You're massively overreacting because we lost a meaningless friendly 1-0 against a good La Liga side tonight.

why didnt we try and arrange the AEK game after this one? would have had a nice feel good factor going into the new season. seems a bit odd to have an away game as the last friendly, ah well, lets hope we hit the ground running, at least we have a nice set of fixtures if we don't get 3 points against man utd

Hey, I'm not arguing. It is poor.

7th isn't **** though, considering our finances.

It's **** for the size of the club, and the history & stature of the club.

But in real life 2012, it's actually pretty decent all things considered.

We have finished lower than 7th a lot more times than above in the last 60yrs all with more money and 'better' managers :)

So all in all that was a respectable but not great finish. Looking forward to some consolidation this year and hopefully the more attacking play from the end of the season can carry through

Hey, it's pre-season. When it's a good one, it's no guarantee of a good season, and vice versa.

I'm not saying I'm happy with a bad performance, far from it, but its about match fitness.

No, I'm reacting to the fact that the only two games we've played anything approaching decent football were against League 2 Morecambe and AEK reserves.

This pre season has been garbage and with three weeks to go, I wouldn't count on all those key players still being here.

And testing out new tactics etc....he forgets about that though

Wouldnt it be mind blowing if Moyes tried out new tactics during pre season, Try a proper 442, Play Barkley behind 2 strikers ANYTHING BUT THE SAME CRAP WEEK IN WEEK OUT

I mean its not like 99% of the squad dont already know the current one inside out, Its not like they have forgotten it during there 4 weeks off

He doesn't even bother trying it out. Everyone knows how to do their usual day job, so mixing it up might just make us less one dimensional.

But what do I know. It's a broken record
