Commands his area, collets crosses, makes important saves, if he keeps this up he'll be our bargain of the year.

At £.75m he's a bargain anyway. I don't know why people are complaining about him, and then complaining about the same people who are happy enough with Maarten, are apparently the same ones stamping their feet about getting rid of other players to bring in new ones, while they tmeselves dismiss Stekelenburg altogether, and are wanting in a keeper that costs £££millions but isn't any better.

Any ideas, @davek?

Just compare him to our goalkeeper of the last 5 years, Tim Howard. He's about five times better. He's started the season brilliantly and deserves to be starting. I was very sceptical when he joined but he's done very well so far and I hope he keeps it up. May prove to be a very shrewd deal.

Maybe he is an average keeper, but considering what we've had the last couple of seasons he is a big improvement.

I didn't really know what to expect from him since I've never paid attention to him in the past but he looks a good keeper to me. I'm getting the impression koeman is pleasantly surprised with him as well which has taken the pressure off getting another keeper in
