...it’s proportionate. £5k per week is the best part of £25k per month. Not too shabby. Garbutt will be on a fair bit more than that. They are all very wealthy young men, some are wealthier than others.

If no EPL club wants Garbutt, then we’re going to have to subsidise a loan or pay him off. Who’s going to pay Mirallas £80k a week? Or Williams, McCarthy, Bolasie, Klaasen...

Loans, with part payment of their wages is a probably a realistic option for a few of them.

Not convinced that any of these enormous salaries are anything like reality. It seems to be the "in thing" to make out that even fringe squad players are on king's ransom salaries making them millionaires. Allegations that someone in the know said that …etc is surely invented and very dubious. Luke would be vastly overpaid on £5,000 per week which is probably nearer the mark and on a par with League 2 players.
