This is a real bullshit thread ... Simple as this - if he stays and signs a contract we will all love him - if he goes he a treacherous prick ... !!!

IF he joins RS just because he prefers to sit in their bench ( cause their +£15m investment Moreno will be infront of him in the pecking order)
he can *****^##$* right off. That would be a betrayal of highest order.

I find it hard to fathom that after all the time he's been here he has worked to get into the first team squad and put in some decent performances when given the chance, surely the future at Everton would be quite bright for him. Be interesting to see how it all pans out, I would like to see him progress here and be a boss full back for years to come but if he's made his mind up to go then so be it.

If we assume hes a good player, which it seems he is, I mean its hard to judge somebody over the very fleeting glimpses we have seen, but lets consider him a good prospect.

As far as hes concerned he has the best LB in the league ahead of him, who is still only 30 years of age and you would imagine would be first choice for at least the next 2 years.

He could move to a "lesser" club or even a "better" club than us and have a better chance of being better than the player infront of him and also probably double the wages that Everton are offering.

Honestly, hand on heart, if he ends up staying here, lots of respect for the lad, if he ends up leaving, no matter where to, I will not blame him 1 tiny bit.

Luke Garbutt should only look after Luke Garbutt.

That's the most text you've ever plopped down for a player, you're clearly in love with him.

I watched that class of 92 the other night and it got me thinking about the summer they brought the yutes into the squad at the expense of senior players, just wondered how that would have played out if the manager had waited until their legs had started to fade before easing the younger players in if it would have helped or slowed down the development? I'm not comparing Garbutt to any of those players but just got me thinking about sometimes if a players good enough and ready then sometimes it can pay off rather than letting players play on till they feel they cannot compete at the highest level, Neville and Cahill spring to mind. Just a thought really?, being a bit football manager maybe.

The issue is we have 2 LB's who may not be the same players post injuries. That's the worry for me people are living in the past of last season of "he's behind 2 top class LB's"

Issue is one Is 30+ and having reconstructive surgery and the others just had a serious leg break and metatarsal damage.

2nd choice LB there or 3rd choice LB here behind two players a bit more injury prone. tough choice.
