Lukaku

Lukaku will be sold. Unless Chelsea sell someone else.

Otherwise there is a hole in their FFP accounts.

Hence why I think that we're in with a chance of signing him. That is all.

NO.

You're not looking back over the three years and year to year.

They were already at the limits over the previous period and are still being investigated.

This means they have to keep year to year losses low. This year according to the Times its £4.5m

I think its £5.5m without our money for Lukaku

was just stating that they've spent a lot this summer again so possibly do need to sell. was also noting that they've made £90m, which is a lot - to provide a bit of balance to the argument. they've also sold de buyne for a decent amount if we're looking over 3 years, but like you say, have spent a lot and pay handsome wages.

FFP had a three year monitoring period. Imagine the fury if in 2014/2015 season that UEFA turned round and said

"Everton are banned from Europe".

Wouldn't look very good would it

I'm sorry mate, but the 2011 fire sale and the two and a half year restriction on signing players was not a strategy designed to ensure a possible Europa League qualification should we have actually qualified for the competition three years later.

The bank demanded part of the overdraft be paid back, and we were losing around 10 million pound a year. The situation was unsustainable, so we had to sell some valuable assets to keep the business going. FFP was an afterthought given the state that we were in at that time.

The Mata and De Buyne sales were to get them over the FPP line for this season.

Next season they need to balance the books. After what they've spent already they need our money for Lukaku.

Or they are under pressure.

You're missing my point. I don't think he was bought as a starter, he was bought as a squad player to replace Vic.

Even if had of scored 13 goals he still wouldn't have been value for money as we would only have got a max of 2 seasons from him for our 6m.

The same reason ultimately why paying 5m for a loan for a season doesn't make long term sense however at least with a loan we don't have to pay wages afterwords and we get a better quality player.

That's nonsense. If he was bought as a squad player to replace Anichebe (as you claim, I don't necessarily agree with that), then scoring 13 goals last season would have been a MASSIVE improvement on Anichebe, who only scored a total of 18 goals in his ENTIRE 7 YEAR, 131 GAME EVERTON CAREER.

People are judging a player on a handful of games, only 1 start... it takes most players a run of games to get going. If people always wrote players off after an iffy start, then many Everton legends would never have become legends. The likes of Southall, Sharp, Watson - they all had iffy starts to their Everton careers.

I don't even mind people slagging someone off if they deserve it, but this rewriting of history regarding Kone is just silly. Give the lad a chance, a run of games. If he's still really poor after 10-15-20 games, then yeah, bash ahead.

Should be announced Monday/Tuesday at the latest. Although to be honest I would have thought it would have been completed by now, heard a deal was close about 2 weeks ago.

That is who:

The question is how much money in transfers have Chelsea taken in versus how much they've spent.

Demba Ba out £8m
David Luiz out for £40m

Diego Costa in £32m
Fabregas in £30m
Filipe Luis in £20m

Thats net spend £34m

For Financial Fair Play selling us Lukaku for £18-£20-odd million will help them enormously on their three year average.

Would mean next two year they can make a loss of 14.5million per season (then factor in our transfer money) to meet the rules.

Without our money - its £5.5million losses per year limit.

He'll be sold.

This will make Chelsea in the eyes of UEFA happier that losses are declining.

It is mandatory for Chelsea to reduce losses in 2013-14 to ensure that it remains compliant with FFP during the second monitoring period, the club will still be allowed around £38m in total losses over the 2011-12, 2012-13, and 2013-14 books.

Think Chelsea have Costa and Torres.

Fabregas can play in behind them as can Hazard. As can Victor Moses as can André Schürrle and Willian.

Mourinho won't want two up front.
