Kone has started 1 game for us, and made a total of 5 appearances.

It's ridiculous to judge a player so early based on that. There's literally no reason why, if he'd not gotten injured, that he couldn't have scored at least 12+ goals for us last season.

You're missing my point. I don't think he was bought as a starter, he was bought as a squad player to replace Vic.

Even if had of scored 13 goals he still wouldn't have been value for money as we would only have got a max of 2 seasons from him for our 6m.

The same reason ultimately why paying 5m for a loan for a season doesn't make long term sense however at least with a loan we don't have to pay wages afterwords and we get a better quality player.

-------------

Everton sold Arteta in 2011/2012 because of FFP. In the first monitoring period covers the 2011-12 and 2012-13 financial accounts.

No other reason. Wasn't the banks. It was due to a long term view of needing to ensure Everton can have European football revenues.

I don't believe that in the slightest. It would mean Kenwright chose to decimate our squad, and to restrict Moyes from signing a player for two and a half years, just to make sure we would potentially benefit from the extra 10 million in revenue you receive from a good Europa League campaign in 3 years time. That really isn't the best way to go about ensuring revenue from European football competitions, and even those who have massively failed FFP in recent years haven't been denied the opportunity to compete and receive revenues from European competitions.

FFP had a three year monitoring period. Imagine the fury if in 2014/2015 season that UEFA turned round and said

"Everton are banned from Europe".

Wouldn't look very good would it.

That's absolute bobbins.

We are nowhere near the FFP limit ffs and never have been. You're talking out yer hoop

Thats because we sold Arteta.

Simply I am of the belief Chelsea have to sell Lukaku.

Its clear they're just playing a game and its clear this is why Everton have been leaking comments to the local press about being cautiously confident about getting him.

£32m on costa, £30m on fabregas and £12m on luis.

suppose that's more than covered by luiz and mata sales. will be paying a lot more in wages though.

From what I recall Arteta was actually the one that wanted to go and pushed for the transfer on the last day of the window...that doesnt sound like a FFP transaction to me...

Its because he knew that spending would be limited in the following three years.

Therefore his chances would be limited for Europe.

But that has all changed now due to the extra tv money and the sale of Fellaini. Martinez has money to spend to try and poach Lukaku.

From a Chelsea team that needs to sell. Due to FFP.

NO.

You're not looking back over the three years and year to year.

They were already at the limits over the previous period and are still being investigated.

This means they have to keep year to year losses low. This year according to the Times its £4.5m

I think its £5.5m without our money for Lukaku

Their income has increased by nearly £30m due to the TV cash, so again, you're totally wrong
