Lukaku V Kane and Barkley V Alli

I prefer Lukaku as a footballer.

But I really admire Kane indicating that he would like to play at Spurs his entire career.

More players should try and make their clubs great, not try and join the flavour of the month, cash rich media faves.

Cannot judge us until we have top class defenders in place and stop trying to play the likes of Barry.

Rom has scored 9 out of 13 appearances.
Kane has scored 15 out of 20.
Need to let the penalty argument go; pretty insignificant

How is it? As I mentioned in an earlier post, Kane has scored 4 penalties this season taking his total to 19, 1 ahead of Lukaku. If hypothetically you could let fans from the crowd take 4 penalties against the keepers that Kane scored his against, I guarantee there would be some Spurs and Everton fans that could score at least 1 out of 4.

How many Spurs or Everton fans in the crowd could have scored Kane's first, or Lukaku's goal today? Penalties boosting the goal tally absolutely counts in this debate. lol A free shot unopposed from 12 yards.

However, I do feel some of the arguments over the last few pages have been biased. Kane has had 3 full seasons in the Premier League, and 1 before that where he played 10 games. We can't say a 5 year period when he hasn't played for 5 seasons yet. That said, Spurs fans need to accept that 'being a late bloomer' is a mark against Kane as well. Lukaku has been a top goalscorer since his first proper season which was with West Brom.

I'm also not buying this argument that Kane can score 'all types of goals' and Lukaku can't. Lukaku can score every type of goal that Kane can, and more, as Kane doesn't have the pace or power that Lukaku has. Lukaku's goal against Bournemouth was a better finish than Kane's today which was also from outside the box. Robles should have saved it. Kane could not have scored Lukaku's last week against Sunderland, running from the half way line, he couldn't have scored the one against Man City away earlier in the season either. I'd like someone to name a goal that Kane has scored that Lukaku couldn't score.

Sure, because a completely unchallenged shot from the centre of the goal with a dead ball is really the no different to running 40 yards shoulder to shoulder with a defender before finishing as Lukaku did against Sunderland.

Good strikers find a way to put up good numbers in any team. If we follow this logic through Defoe should be the best striker in the world doing what he's doing at Sunderland.

Shearer found a way to put up 25 goals per season playing for Newcastle. Maybe Kevin Philips was actually the best striker ever scoring ~30 goals per season for a few years for Sunderland.

There are so many examples where good strikers put up the numbers despite the team they are in. Just seems like an easy excuse to make.

Everton have had fantastic attacking players for years, Martinez's 14/15 team scored only 10 less goals than Spurs that season.

Earlier you were claiming we'd played in the CL with Lukaku, but yes please do tell us more about how great we were under Martinez.

Yes but he could try closing his mouth from time to time for starters. He's particularly devoid of any personality. Ibrahimovic, Aguëro ...; all interesting personalities and then you have Kane.

He may have a boring personality to you (entirely subjective) but he's clearly one of the most likeable and well grounded PL stars around. He's a role model for kids, and frankly, the rest of the PL are just jealous he came through our ranks and has taken the PL by storm.

Today's . Kane scores froM distance plenty of times.

I think Rom has one goal for us outside the penalty area in his career.

In the last 3 seasons Lukaku has had 8 Penalties, scored 5 missed 3. Kane has had 13 penalties, scored 11 missed 2.

Hardly some defining stat is it. This penalty thing with Kane is just a load of nonsense.

Over his career, perhaps not. Depends on whether we're talking about whole careers or this season though.

This season, it's 4 and none.
