Lukaku OR Jelavic?

Hmm Romelu has gone 5 games without a goal. Do we let him play his way through it or is it better to rotate? Moyes always chose the first option and allowed players like Saha to go for months without a goal. I don't think it helps them. It has to be easier for him to come on with fresh legs once the defenders have already played for an hour than to work the defenders the whole game.

Last season he scored 11 when he started and 6 when he came on including a hat-trick against United. Only 4 of his 17 goals came in the first half of games, strangely enough, and one of those was a penalty. Maybe he finds more space when games get stretched or he receives more crosses if West Brom were chasing the game?

It sounds like there is no imperative to sell Jelavic other than the fact that we can't guarantee him game time in the lead up to the World Cup. If we play him and he scores a couple of important goals it will increase his value but would we then want to sell him?

It's tricky but, ideally, both Lukaku and Jelavic would be firing and pushing each other. Nikica can't find any form if we don't play him. So, why not give him a start?

Start Jelavic, Lukaku gets angry being on the bench. With 30mins left tell Lukaku he's going on, watch him rip his training jacket off like he's the Hulk and release the beast.

I think Martinez likes to feel he has an option on the bench that can potentially change the game. With the Spanish kid injured, already being down to the bare bones in midfield and Mirallas ill, he may well start Jelavic and keep Lukaku on the bench.
