good point.
Thanks and haha I take no pride in saying that but them 2 are quality unfortunately and so that’s why there fullbacks get loads off assists the way they play and the players they have to score. I know placing loads off faith in this Moise kean but if he can be the real deal for us I Digne could have a even better Season than last for us with his goals and assist tally he already has a goal and 2 assists already

Everyone has there opinions and all entitled to them but I always say to everyone that Robertson never scores goals Digne does and scores stunners all outside the box also I would like to think if Digne was crossing or passing to the likes of mane and Salah he would have more assists and defensively I think there same but I could be biased the one thing Robertson does have tho he is younger. As for Mendey he is never fit so can’t judge

This theory (that Robertson benefits from better finishers at Liverpool) would hold more water if Digne put in a similar amount of crosses to Robertson. He doesn’t. He put in more than double the amount of crosses last season. He also lost the ball and gave the ball away much more than Robertson - who with half the crosses, still created more big chances and had almost 3x the assists (equalling Baines record season). That’s no mean feat.

Digne has scored 3 free kicks during his time here and he’s certainly more of a goal threat than Robertson but his crossing is inconsistent. A couple of people actually said in the Lincoln match thread words to the effect of “I wish Digne would stop these pointless crosses when he gets into good positions”

Of course he then did brilliantly to set up Richarlison so all was forgotten. Defensively, there have been several occasions where he’s either dove in and made silly challenges or been caught out of position and it’s cost us.

In any case, an excellent player and i’m chuffed we have him, probably my favourite player in this current crop, I just don’t think he’s as good as Robertson on the left. Each to their own and all that, just not for me.

I agree with some off your points but we also have to take it to Account how each team sets up and plays and easy it is for those teams to get into crossing and chance situations Liverpool make it look easy because they have been coached for last 4 years and have better players in certain positions who make transaction from defence to attack quickly and effectively also I notice are full backs like to get a close to the goal line before we cross or pull it back to a midfielder where as Liverpool like to cross early and from a deeper position. The only true way to know who is better in any position is for them to play in the same team over a season and compare

Digne didn’t respect his opponent and got burned. Needs to force him inside and not allow him to get to the byline. Not often he gets roasted. Too casual on the goal
