Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton have all made contact for André Ayew

According to our colleagues at RMC, Premier League sides Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton have all made contact with Ghanaian international and AFCON finalist André Ayew’s entourage about a possible summer move.

Pre-contracts have reportedly been offered in principle, with Dortmund reportedly the latest of sides to have made approaches, but André Ayew would prefer a move to England and would like to move on from Marseille this summer.

Marseille have offered the player a contract extension but for a reduced salary, down from €350,000 to €200,000. The player is understood not to have considered this offer as of yet. The club also rejected an offer from QPR in the final days of the January Transfer Window.

The player, for the moment, favours a move to England ahead of anything else, but other clubs are likely to enter the ring in the coming weeks.

Ehmm.. wait a minute.. Marseille are paying him €350k....per week? Year?

Summer, desperately need to get rid of the following:

Distin
Hibbert
Gibson
Pienaar
Alcaraz

That's five major has-been players off the books and a total of easily over 150k p/w off the wages, so 7.5m a year saved instantly.

Then I'd like to see the following moved on:

Howard
McGeady
Naismith
Kone
Osman

However, you cannot expect the manager to shift 10 players, but think we could see Howard and Osman go, to the MLS and retiring, respectively. So we're 7 players down and around 10m down in wages, but still not really missing anybody as none of them are any good in the first place.

New TV deal, possibly sign one of Lennon/Atsu for cheap, and then look to invest in a good CB, a flying winger and a striker. 20m net spend should be available, but obviously won't be.

I reckon, to get the players we need in, the manager will cash in on either Stones or Barkley, sadly. Possibly 25m for Stones, would be very sad to see him go.

I'll tell you something for nothing though, if we go into next season with players like Steven Naismith starting games, it's going to be another big disappointment of a campaign.

We won't sell Naismith, particularly seeing as he just signed up with us recently. Howard leaving depends on offers and Nyland while I think Osman will stay providing he can get over the injury. Agree on the 5 listed outs. As much as I like Gibson he is never fit and I would rather see Ledson on the bench in his place. I think Alcaraz may stay to provide experienced cover next year until browning and Galloway are established first team players.

Nah, Alcaraz has to go mate! Galloway and Browning are 100% better options than him and I am certain he'll go elsewhere on a 2/3 year deal.

Osman should retire gracefully.

Thinking about it, Kone may be off seeing as he gets 0 minutes on the pitch despite being fully fit and scoring in the one game he did start (Newcastle).

We've a lot of rubbish, rubbish players we need to be getting rid of.

I'd happily say goodbye to Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Alcaraz, McGeady, Barry, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, Naismith, Kone. A whole team's worth.

People looking to clear out Alcaraz, i think Martinez will look to keep him for 1 more year as 4th choice, so he does not have to replace both him and Distin in one window.

McGeady and Naismith are surely both staying.

Howard may well be off.

Who will buy an injury prone Gibson?

Hibbert and Distin will both likely retire.

Kone will also be given at least another season to give something towards his price tag.

Pienaar and Osman completely depend on injuries.

Then Mirallas is off too probably. Massive summer this.
My dream window would be to bring in Konoplyanka, Reid, Rafael Silva, Nyland And Ings. Get rid of Pienaar Distin Alcaraz Hibbs Gibson and Kone. Retain Barry Osman McGeady and Naismith (as squad players) and bring through Browning Ledson and Kenny. Would be drastic enough as is without dealing with all of the outgoings

I like your approach, Butters but the majority of those players are unsellable and hence they will all stay until their contracts run down.

For example, nobody has ever wanted Hibbert and now even less; Osman, Pienar, Alcaraz, Distin, Kone might find some admirers but no money will change hands.

Its a pity that we are already thinking about summer with so much of this season to run. The Europa League might still be a big deal for us. But the club does have lots of dead wood, but its all on fat contracts.

Sell Naismith? Seriously? Haha....I'm not a massive Naismith fan and it drives me mad him starting so many games but he's clearly a very good guy to have in the squad who offers certain things needed at specific times. Shouldn't be looking to get rid of him!

Hibbert, Distin, Gibson and McGeady would be my first casualties.

Miralass will remove himself, as to Atsu who will look for more football elsewhere.

Think Alacaraz (4th choice) pienaar, Osman and Howard will all remain at least 1 more season.

Kone & Barry I'm not sure. Barry certainly won't be here for his full contract. He fancied USA in the summer. I think this season will only have convinced him more to make that switch.

Ins for me -
M. Richards, CB, Song, Lennon, Delefoe, Konoplyanka and a CF

Job done!

I would like to see a big summer clear out.

Distin
Hibbert
Gibson
Pienaar
Alcaraz
Howard
McGeady
Osman
Barry
Mirallas

We may as well try and do it all in one summer and start promoting some of the U21s through. Unless we're in the Champions League we won't have to play Europe next season so won't need a huge squad.

We will however need to buy a young right back and even assuming Lennon stays 2 wingers - Henen is probably a year away from playing regularly. Kone is fine as backup to Rom for one more season. Barkley and Ledson can provide cover for Besic and McCarthy however I think we do need a play maker.

I also don't want to see any more deadwood brought in. I'm OK with Lennon but the likes of Kone, McGeady and Alcaraz just aren't good enough no matter what the price. I would genuinely like to see kids get their minutes - it might weaken us slightly in those games but long term it would be great development and save a bundle on wages.

I think it's only after this summer that we will be able to judge Martinez on his transfer policy. So far I give him a B
