OK I'll try and phrase it in as clear way as possible what my view is.

Yes, I agree with the words "Black Lives Matter" and I firmly agree with the concept of racial equality.

Also, I disagree with quite a few of the aims and actions of Black Lives Matter as a movement, as I feel they are often counter productive.

I can't really add more to that so it's up to you to interpret that however you wish.

Well we are on the same side with the message and concepts, which is very important.

What aims and actions do you disagree with? Because I am struggling to think of anything controversial.

The idea that the statement BLM is political baffles me.

This is from their own website. How is this not political?

"Black Lives Matter began as a call to action in response to state-sanctioned violence and anti-Black racism. Our intention from the very beginning was to connect Black people from all over the world who have a shared desire for justice to act together in their communities. The impetus for that commitment was, and still is, the rampant and deliberate violence inflicted on us by the state."

Because the idea that it is OK for BAME people to be discriminated against shouldn't be part of civil discourse.

The Bolsheviks in Russia 1912-1917 could have wrote a similar mission statement mate. Just replace "Black Lives Matter" with "Bolshevism" and "Black" with "peasant" and it's identical.

They are political. Doesn't mean they're wrong, just that they're political. Which is fine.

We’re guided by a commitment to dismantle imperialism, capitalism, white-supremacy, patriarchy and the state structures that disproportionately and systematically harm Black people in Britain and around the world

Hard to argue this isn’t political.

I wouldn't equate Bolshevism with wanting equal rights for BAME people within our existing society.

And yes, everything is political (I work in Government, I understand that). I should rather say I find it baffling that this is a political issue for some people.

Though even Boris says that Black Lives Matter, the wider public agrees, as do our cultural and sporting institutions. So it is only going one way thankfully.

So you’re saying everybody who’s not white has less rights in the UK ?

Parts of that are political and radical aims, capitalism in particular.

That is a specific group within the wider idea of course, but I completely take the point.

All I will say is, while I'm personally not arsed and see it as harmless... you get national FA fines and threatened with suspensions if you wear a poppy, and the rules are clear the political declarations on kits etc. are not allowed.

So when you think about it, it is a bit mad they've done it given the precedent before.

Also, Black Lives Matter will turn out runaway Premier League top goalscorer after this.
I had a fiver on it for first goal scorer in the Villa Sheffield United game :)

Not everything is political.

English footballs own 'Kick It Out' campaign has been effective, I believe. It encourages diversity and inclusion, and is firmly against all forms of discrimination. And it campaigns for all this without any political element.

This is the campaign that the Premier League should be promoting.

And it does promote it.

The league, the clubs and the players all support the message BLM as well.

They don't contradict each other.

Do the players support it? Or are they coerced? Are they pressured into kneeling down?

Any player that chooses to remain impartial at kick-off and stand, is just going to face the full wrath of the left wing press and social media mob. It's probably easier for them just to kneel down and submit to social pressure.

That element is US specific.

BLM is a movement here in that it represents equality. That is all it is, equality. There are no controversial policies here.

Those against BLM are on the side of Britain First and the other fascists, turning up just for violence in London last weekend, or attacking an asylum seeker demo in Glasgow.

And people who wear poppies are....?
