I hope Allardyce spends every day between now and Sunday making his starting XI re-watch the RS's loss to Chelsea in 2014 that cost them the title. That game is obviously remembered for other reasons (quite hilarious reasons) but what I remember most is just how perfectly Mourinho set up Chelsea to take on a team that was blitzing through everyone at the time and managed to completely shut them down.

Throw every man behind the ball, take absolutely ages when we have a throw-in, goal-kick or set piece, have the defence and midfield always holding their lines and never commit more than two player to run forwards at them. It might sound humiliatingly small-time to do something like that in a derby game but the fact is it's what it necessary to stop a team with the attack force they have not putting 4, 5 or 6 past us. It's not the same as when Moyes used to go there and wave a white flag because he just had no belief we could pull off a game plan against them. This would just be classic Big Sam boiling the p*ss of him opposition by suffocating the life out of the game, he's gone there and done it before with worse teams.

Tony Pullis tactics.

Look what happened to him

Well we have kept 2 clean sheets in a row, if we can keep a third I'd be amazed but anything is possible Williams could even have the game of his life. I think perhaps 3 at the back with wing backs could be a good idea for this particular game.

Spartak are dreadful in fairness shame it wasn't an away game, but still they look unstoppable going forward. I actually think Niasse would do well chasing after our long punts upfield....
