Liverpool players visit kids in hospital

Gotta be a fake hasn't it? I mean there's no way a lad would get an Everton bed sheet in the NHS.

Although the thread title says 'Hospital', it could be a hospice. We have some down here (in Devon) for very ill (often terminal) children. Does anyone know the name of the 'hospital'?

No way it's a fake, and there's a better than even chance of the kid getting an Everton duvet.

If he's a long term patient, his parents will have been allowed to make his room, or bedspace on the ward, as comfortable as possible, bringing in things from home.

I'm all for poking fun at Liverpool when the situation calls for it but they should be congratulated in this case. I know it's not much for a multi millionaire sportsman to give up a day to visit a hospital, but they don't have to do it. I applaud the fact that they have.

this and nothing more really.

My nephew has Cerebral Palsy and is brain damaged and basically lives in Alder Hey

You get both Everton and Liverpool players doing this quite alot, Some are more intrested than others, Torres for instance whilst in my Nephews room spent the whole time txt and talking on his phone,Kuyt on the other hand talked to him his mum and dad and had pictures taken

Hate the RS but not a chance I would slate them for this, The kids in the ward are over the moon when this sort of thing happens

I think that poor lad is very sick by the looks of it, and as pointed out by some the fact that he has his own bed spread probably points to the fact he has been in there a long time or will be in there a long time.

Its a yearly thing that both clubs do; visiting Alder Hey with presents for the little ones. I'm torn, 1 it is a good deed, but 2 its very PR'ish (even when Everton do it).

I know Duncan was renowned for taking his own time, by himself no club reps, no PR stuff, and turning up at Alder Hey to see the kids; and to be fair, Cara does the same from the reds, he does a hell of a lot of chairty and visits work which goe unreported and that when footballers should be praised.

But like I said, good deed and i'm sure there were a few little ones who would have had the xmas made a little bit more special.

Agreed. You'd hope players do stuff like this on a weekly basis. Can only imagine the help it'd give patients in hospital.

You know how people can look at the same thing and everyone see it differently...

I think that lad isnt completely aware of what is going because he has an illness. pr stunt or whatever its a nice touch to visit kids in hospital at this time of year when they should be looking forward to Santa coming and opening presents some of them will be fighting for their lives.

Our boys have gone today.

getting a bit deep here lads, only reason I posted was because I thought it was funny that the Everton duvet had probably been placed on the bed by an Everton supporting dad in anticipation of LFC players visiting. Reminds me of my dad sending me up to collect an award off three former Liverpool players in an Everton shirt. Can't remember who the players were like, Grobbelar was meant to be there but he didn't turn up the cunt

for the record, whether it's a PR stunt or not I like this sort of thing no matter what club's doing it, can only be beneficial to the kids really

last year....
