Live Concerts

Go to see live music most weeks, but it's never ticketed stuff. London is fantastic for having great live music (usually from people you've never heard of) everywhere you look. Going to a blues bar this afternoon in Soho. More my thing that sitting in the O2.

I`ve always thought that about London and the arts, there`s always something going on, somewhere every night of the week, even it`s a tiny gig above a pub on a Monday evening or an impromptu comedy open mic night in another pub just down the road.

Exactly. it's the same with galleries and stuff. I like the vibe of being there more than I go for particular artists.

Bought myself and the mrs tickets to go see bill bailey in November for a nice comedy gig, then my daughter surprised me by telling me she’s bought us tickets to go see jungle on the same night. Bit gutted as I love the genius of Bill Bailey.

Pardon the 'lost in translation' question but what do you mean by jungle? As in the type of music?

If so, I'm sorry...they make some great ear plugs these days. ;)

A lot of those places are dying pretty fast though. Nearly all the famous (music) improv pubs have gone, although there is Cafe oto which has a worldwide reputation
