The coaching staff see him week in, week out Joe, so I think they will know if he is "terrific" or not (clearly judged him to be the latter).

Wasn't there also a suggestion that Unnnnnnsy thought he had an attitude problem?
I think it's his injuries that may have panicked the present management to sell - who knows - I have a feeling if we have no buy back - we may regret it !

...I honestly thought the writing was on the wall last season when he wasn’t included in the ‘warm weather’ training camp in Dubai. If I remember rightly, other promising youngsters like Dowell were taken.

He was injured - he was the star player of the title side last year - he has been since besieged by injuries - I have seen him he has everything- I never seen Bobby Collins , but my older brother who did stated and raved what a player he was then!
Maybe the injuries are the reason who knows ?
Just hope it's not another fire sale for that reason, and it comes back to bite us in the bum!
I am sure if this lad had been fit when Unsworth was in temporary charge he would have been ahead of even Tom Davies he was a great box to box midfielder who had a great shot too!

..ultimately I think this is the judgement call with all of these youngsters. To be fair, they don’t get many of these decisions wrong. I like the lad but I have no grievance with the decision, it’s the way the game is.
Well I will if he stars well in the future while we are stuck with overpaid prima donas adding Snides to that list!

....he wasn’t injured for the Dubai trip, Joey. I remember mentioning his omission in the youth thread. Also, he was never around the first team squad in the same was as Kenny was for away trips etc. I respect your brothers view but unless you’re watching a young Wayne Rooney, it’s a major leap of faith predicting one of these kids is the next Bobby Collins. I love watching the lad but successive managers have deemed him not good enough. There comes a point when you have to move them on.

Yes like we did with Leighton Baines !

The lad hasnt even had a sniff in the first team, he clearly wanted a move to kick on, good luck to him.

If he turns out good we can just buy him back, its only money.
