Pleased to see the lad has come to his senses.

Apart from Rooney the only way youngsters have gone since leaving Everton is down.
Yeah good news. And good to see he tested the waters before signing. Shows belief and confidence.

And feels better seeing him come through than the s/show of the Vlasic, Lookman etc.

Along with Richarlison and Gray we now have three players capable of dribbling direct; when was the last time?

Said a while back, until you've got these type of players the whole thing just ends up being static and reduces drastically what you can do, effectively your forced into playing a 442, 451. That was always Marco's issue in sticking to 4231.

Next piece in the puzzle, get midfielders that get the best out of them while bringing some desperately needed steel; its that straightforward but not that simples.

Until then I'd be going Richarlison Gray Townsend across a 231 with Dobbin back up across the three.
Dobbin seems to be more grounded (literally) and less pushed around than Gordon.

Id say that in the two wide positions Dobbin could be used as a rotation option for Richarlison...

Richarlison/Dobbin
Gray/Gordon

Thats a decent wide quartet.

I want to see Dobbin given minutes just as much as anyone on here but freezing out Gordon is a bizarre decision to say the least apart from Gray he's been our only other shine this season

Only my opinion.
I like the lad and he's been leading the way in attitude, spirit, determination as much as anyone and showed some decent ability.
Just don't think he's PL standard winger, at least not the type we need.
Having said that I think he'd be worth a go in a 3 man midfield behind Richo DCL Gray (Dobbin)
Think he'd be better than Davies given time.

Give him about 2 minutes and he'd be better than Davies...

He literally changed the game when he came on in our last and proved should've started ahead of Townsend neutral fans have been calling him a baller in current form Gordon is a starter for me

He's not a central player mate especially deep you'll never see him play there far too lightweight and that's not his game at all

sure you've got to reward what he's been doing for the team
but if he's lightweight, hasn't got a blitz of pace, doesn't dribble direct at players to the same level as Gray and Richarlison, and in crossing, shooting, defensively covering the line up and down the field for 90mins, he isn't better than Townsend.
Just think he'd be better working with Seamus or Patterson behind Gray on the right (if not playing Townsend)

More to the point though, would you prevent Dobbin (or similar) coming through for Gordon?

We sho
Theres an argument Gordon has been our player of the season so far.
quite happy to give Dobbin some time, keep Gordon and Gray fresh and on their toes.

So with DCL being out for Brentford games, fans on Facebook pages have been calling for him to play up front instead ?

Isn't Dobbin a winger, similar to Gordon and Gray?

Why would you play a kid out of position in a struggling team lacking confidence.

He is a scorer.
